Creating the Poem Calendar 2008 for Keith Hamilton Cobb

Post by Lea » Tue Sep 04, 2007 2:32 pm

Let's create the next Poem Calendar to our beloved Shakespearean actor! :present:

As always:
1. Each participant can create own page.
2. Every calendar-page should contain illustration and written part (for example a poem) - both created for Keith by you (but not necessarily about Keith). Picture has to be LARGE (for printing quality), and please, use large fonts for text.
3. Send me your page before 10. November. (10. Nov. is the deadline, but I would like to receive most of pages already during October.)
4. I will add the dates, will print the calendar out and will snail-mail it to Keith.
5. Calendar will be posted to the message board and shown in homepage after New Year.
Participants list:

January - Roz
February - Karen
March - D.
April - Cyowari
May - Jun
June - Shione123
July - mare_serenitatis
August - Lea
September - Cyowari
October - Karin
November - Karen
December - Lois

I'm no poet either. So far I wrote a haiku, translated a german poem and used a verse of my favourite christmas carol (for the december page) and illustrated them.

You could make up something about a pickle. ;) I saw a picture from our state fair this year of the pickle hats Gedney was giving out. They looked EXACTLY like your avatar's hair! I was ROTFLOL!!

What would you think about the idea to use the quotations of Shakespeare in this year calendar?

Something like:

"Oh, I am fortune's fool!"

Here are some quotes to find.
What does not kill me, makes me stronger.

How about we mess with the quotes of Shakespeare?
Like,
"To be or not to be, that is the question?"
and change it to,
To be or not to be, what else is there?

Shakespeare's good!
Then up he rose, and donn'd his clothes, / And dupp'd the chamber-door;
Let in the maid, that out a maid / Never departed more.
Hamlet, Act IV, Sc. V
