welcome to the brand new board :)

Post by mare_serenitatis » Sun Aug 16, 2009 4:17 pm

Please report all problems here. Avatars, images and smilies should all be present. I hope the same goes for PMs as well.

Making a template that looks like the old one is top on my to-do list, so soon this place will look a little more familiar.

*hugs*

Everything appears to be working fine for me, will definitely let you know if I come across any problems.

Thanks for all your hard work Mare, appreciated. :D

Pheeeew, that's a relief! The board I installed for my friend Lord Dork already developed a few bugs. For example, I can't add new smilies there. And if you have more than 2 PMs with the same title, the board will freak out. I'll be pretty busy the next weeks, I'm afraid.
Ah well - at least Dork's buggy board keeps me off the street

As you can see Mare, I've added the "Center" Tag to the BBcodes. If you need more, just give me a sign. :)

Well it's quite easy: Go to the ACP, choose Posting -> Messages -> BBCodes and then "Ada a new BBCode".
You can find the codes here: http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/adding- ... in-phpbb3/

But if you need a new code I can add it to the forum. ;)

Does this mean that if I want to add a feature I don't have to bug ya'll, I can just do it myself?

Maybe we should split off the tech talk into the Tree house?

Well, we are here in the "Technical Questions". Could we be in the wrong place for Tech-Talk? :D

Back to your question: As far as you can do it, you can.....
But if you are just a little unsure, just ask me or mare and don't be afraid that I feel bothered. ;)

Thanks for your reply Iris,
The reason I suggested the tree house was because we are talking about board business, and this is an open to the public venue.

If your okay with with talking about board business in public, who am I to worry?

I think it's quite ok. After all, we're only discussing basic functions of a standard phpBB3. As it's freeware, it's not exactly a secret. But thanks for your concern, D, it's highly appreciated! {{{{{{{D}}}}}}}

This code adding is going to be rather a challenge for me. I speak and programme quite fluently in BASIC, q-BASIC, Pascal and Milan and a little bit in php as well, but I am almost completely html-illiterate. Well, at least I know now what to read during my vacation ;) *logs off to order something like "HTML for dummies"*
