Re: Star Trek: Discovery Season 2

Coincidentally, just this very moment I got an email from CBS All Access: "The CBS All Access team seeks your feedback on Star Trek: Discovery to help improve the show content and viewer experience. Please complete this 10-minute survey." I think I'll give them a piece of my mind.

Re: Dream your nights away.

^I hate it when I look outside and there's a musical happening. Yeah, I don't know where that came from. The steampunk TV sounds kind of cool. I saw a show once where some steampunk enthusiasts had converted an old typewriter into a computer keyboard. Warehouse 13 used to have stuff lik...

Re: Sea Creature Lounge - The Fall of the Autumn!

I once had an idea for stories about an organization that explored alternate timelines-- only instead of exploring what would have happened if Abraham Lincoln had lived or the Nazis had won WWII, they went looking for worlds where there was a fourth season of Star Trek or Asimov lived to write more ...

So that's really him, not a hallucination? I like that idea. That would get Jack off the hook.

Re: Star Trek: Discovery Season 2

Now that I'm subscribing for Twilight Zone , I'm tempted to check out an episode of season two. If I do, I'll skip right to the end. I can't understand how experienced, presumably talented, professionals made this. It's cinematic-quality (despte its adolescent obsession with lens flare and other eff...

Re: Server upgrade, April 2019

Long story short: Prim immigrant grandmother decides to use her granddaughter's "feminine hygiene spray" before a GYN exam. Except it turned out to be a vivid-colored sparkly spray-on hair dye instead. 70 yo OBGYN has seen it all, doesn't miss a beat. He simply says "Fancy!" and proceeds with the e...

Re: Dream your nights away.

^^ That's so frustrating. I had another long dream last night that I can only remember part of. It took place in a dream version of our house in Dorchester, although the place was much bigger with lots more hallways. There's a part just beyond my recollection that's really intriguing, but I ca...

Re: The Weather: The Coming of Spring.

The rain came back today, but it was just a light rain with no wind-- oh, wait. My mistake. I'm walking back from the store and the monsoon returned! Pfft. I'm drenched (but I got my brownies). :rain: Is that what happens when you get a Nor'easter? Yeah, but I think it can happen with any big storm.

Re: Groceries: What's in your basket?

Walgreens was probably open, but I didn't need anything that couldn't wait-- except brownies, and Walgreens doesn't have a bakery.

Today I got tea bags, hot dogs, Brillo pads, and brownies from the bakery. They were all out of Arizona Iced Tea, though, so I'll have to go back tomorrow.

Re: Supernatural Season 14

Okay, that was a pretty eventful episode. The season is certainly not winding down in any of the ways that I predicted, other than Jack going off the rails. I'm sorry to see Duma get sent off to the Big Empty, even if she did turn out to be kind of Old Testament. I like Erica Cerra. But I wonder if ...

Re: Check-in Thread #96: Almost Spring Version

Good evening, everyone. :hello: That was pretty low-key for a Monday. This evening The Wife and I are doing a walking tour of downtown Richmond. One of the sights we'll see is the old St. John's church, where Patrick Henry gave his famous "Give me liberty or give me death" speech. That's cool (altho...

Good morning, everybody. :hello: Back to the old grindstone. Ouch. If only someone would hire her, she'd have the money to pay for internet service. It's sad that older people face such challenges getting a job. Age discrimination is very hard to prove. I know. She's literally been looking for years...

The actors often crack each other up during the skits, which is infectious. Whenever Harvey Korman and Tim Conway work together, neither one can ever keep a straight face.

Re: The Orville - Season Two -- SPOILERS

There are rumors that it was already renewed and they're just waiting for a specific event in May to announce it, but that's just a rumor. I wonder if Seth will take any measures to continue it if FOX doesn't renew it, since it's obviously a labor of love. It's got a lot of great buzz, so maybe Netf...

^Nice. Thank you. It was nice to be able to visit the beach without freezing. When I was there, I noticed a group of people standing together a ways down the shore, so I shot a picture in that direction. When I zoomed in on them, I deduced that they must have been having some kind of an Easte...
