Re: Infirmary Thread #18: Keep Your Social Distance!

My sore achilles tendon, diagnosed correctly as tendonitis by Cayla, has finally healed. So I jogged a short distance in our neighborhood this morning. I'm woefully out of shape

Re: 2020 Politics: On the Hill of Megiddo

^^ I'm not sure about the entire Right Wing, Gary . There are conservatives such as George Will and David Brooks whom I respect even when I don't agree with them. They do seem to be in the minority, however. I had lunch with a friend today and we both only half-joked about which country we'd move to...

^^ A great, catchy tune. I remember 1973 -- this song was blaring constantly everywhere I went.

I know it sounds corny, but this song taught me about the power of love and forgiveness.

Squalls and bands of rain are pelting us ahead of The Big Storm. July was so awfully hot and dry, so this is really good news. thanks...i only do two blogs these days - RJ always reads the bird blog, i dont know if anyone reads the DIY/allotment one though... i used to write book reviews - but these...

That's a great idea. I've also thought about publishing my hero essays, along with a couple of other essays mixed in.
I agree! You have a knack for finding heroes to write about who are unsung and thus very deserving of some recognition.

Shirley you can't be serious!

I'm guessing you've done a lot of things right when it comes to finances.

What's the worst financial decision you've made?

Re: The Weather: Hot and nowhere to go.

Our streak of 24 straight days above 90 degrees should come to an end today -- although I said that several days ago, as it often gets hotter than expected. Today it should be 88 and stormy. The big tropical storm arrives here late tonight -- power outages are possible. Well, that thunderstorm was n...

Re: Check-In 106: Fire and Fury.

Happy Monday, all :hello: Today I'll get some exercise in the morning, probably a bike ride, and then meet up with a friend for lunch. The Big Storm hits us late tonight & early tomorrow morning -- after which, The Wife hopes to leave for her beach trip. :fingers_crossed: chores and gardening possib...

Re: Author's Thread #12

What do you guys think? I've noticed a pattern among your hero essays that you've published on my heroes blog. You tend to view heroism through a different lens, which informs your choice of heroes to write about as well as how you interpret their heroism. I really think people will be drawn to you...
