2 rye rolls
1 donut with rosehip jam
cheese
smoked ham
carrots (organic)
and some chocolates for my colleagues (we have a pretty stressy meeting tomorrow and I think some chocolate might lighten the mood)

Do I under...

as always I'm in a hurry - just getting ready for my dad to pick me up for a 2 week vacation at my parents. In other words: 2 weeks of kitchen chores, cleaning, dog-amusing and trying to keep everyone from killing each other. I'll try to come online a few times (provided, I can prise the keyboard fr...

would that be similar to SETI? Downloading a data package, analyzing it and sending it back? a bit off-topic: by the end of this week comet 46P Wirtanen will reach its closest point relatively to both the Earth and the Sun. Unfortunately, its tail will point away from us, so that it won't be visible...

Bavaria suffers from the aftermath of yesterday's storm. It's been a cloudy and very windy day, but at least it's fairly warm, about 8°C.

I get those too, occasionally (like 5 mins ago on Terran when I edited a smilie). In most cases it helps to go back to the previous window and hit refresh. I've requested help from my provider but they haven't been able to detect the source of the problem either. They promised to keep searching, tho...

frosty nights and a very cold wind from the east. Yesterday the bird bath was frozen to the ground (it's 2 inches deep) at noon.
Time to wrap up the last of my flower boxes in bubble foil and frost protection fleece.

I hope you get well soon! Have you tried inhaling the steam from hot chamomile tea? Many sinusitis patiens say it helps them. Having a headache sucks, particularly the sinus-related ones are mean. I always get a mild migraine when the weather changes (handy with my outdoor job :D). The problem runs ...

back :) sorry about my long absence - I'm on a 1 month sick leave but that means I finally got time to do all the things I've not gotten around to do these last months. Now I finally understand how it comes that pensioners never have time. My mom turned 79 earlier this month and threatened that at 8...

Re: Garden Club IV: Rise of the Honeysuckle

I need to cut down my banana trees, and mulch the roots to keep them safe over winter. I had no idea bananas were perennial plants. How do they store energy during winter? Do they have rhizomes to store starch or sugar? (After all, they are members of the Zingiberales, the ginger-family). Over here...

Re: Garden Club IV: Rise of the Honeysuckle

raccoons are so cute =) I've only seen some in zoos, though, as they are not native to Europe. I once gave one a boiled sweet and it washed it and washed it and suddenly the sweet was gone. The raccoon's face was hilarious. I gave it an egg to make up for the mean joke. Rumour has it that there are ...
