Re: Check-In 132: Pronic Aethra Ogle - HNY 2024

Happy ~belated~ Holidays, All! Storm coming, so I added more hay in the storage, and grabbed a "box" used by my brother or his son-in-law, it holds fake stone, so it's a tough, waterproof material, I broke it down and stuck in the still open spot on the east wall of the storage room. If we...

Re: Garden Club V: Herbs, Vegetables, and Blooms

Well, my peppers, strawberry, etc... and likely the eggplant, which was really blooming, are done. Apparently, at some point when it was still warmish, I brought in on me, somewhere, a winged, black aphid. Turned into hundreds and obliterated my plants the last week of December. So, I will be startin...

Have you also got an orthopedist that you can see? Nope. As you said: "insufficient access to care," I am basically on my own. I take Ranitidine and/or Famotidine, both of which are over the counter and work pretty well. I can't find Ranitidine around here anymore, and can't take Famotidi...

Re: The Weather: The Coming Storms.

Still going to get shorter and colder, and colder.

Got up to 58 today, with light winds, so I loaded up a lot of hay. Yesterday it was 60 and windy.

Re: Check-In 131: Sophie Germain, Dark Lady sequence

Okay, now I swear I just posted like two days ago. No? Time flies. Pulled out some Christmas decorations, but not many. Got the trees found, not many ornaments. It's still a jumbled mess of boxes to sort, find permanent homes, etc... Still need saddle trees for my saddles, eventually a rack for halt...

Re: Who's Here? Or Who's Not Here?

No guests? Keep in mind that you're from the Midwest, where people are genetically designed, out of necessity, to be tougher and grittier than any humans on Earth. How else could you survive frequent blizzards, tornados, and hailstorms? Missing brain cells? ;) Good thing your brother isn't here on R...

Re: Who's Here? Or Who's Not Here?

If we had no hot water, we'd be staying at a family member's house, or a hotel, for sure! ~cough~wuss~cough~ We don't have a water heater, yet. That's an expense that has to wait. However, we have pots and kettles.  Dangerous? Nah. So, maybe my brother did knock over a couple of po...

Re: Check-In 131: Sophie Germain, Dark Lady sequence

Last time I cut my hair short, was around April 2020. 3 years later it is now down past my waist and I am going to cut it again. I can take 16 inches to donate, and it will be just touching my shoulders, that's all I need. And by next Spring, it will be long enough to pull up into a sloppy, messy ta...

Re: The Weather: The Coming Storms.

It's gotten cold. A week ago, 60 degrees, today, lucky if we see 30, first snowfall yesterday/last night/today. Looking forward to the two days of 40 degrees coming up.
I'm counting the days to the shortest day, so I can start watching the days get longer!

Re: Garden Club V: Herbs, Vegetables, and Blooms

Is that what they're predicting? That's not good. Not predicting, but it seems that way. The last drought we had lasted two years, so I am just planning on it happening. Wow, that's some pretty extensive farming. It was a lot, but also a lot of failed plants. You all might be interested in this? Ha...

~dusts off the thread~ Come on, people! Don't wait for me, get injured! err, I mean... no, I said what I meant. I have been in a lot of pain, so my days are all the same, one painful blur into another. See, just before I saw my Rheumatologist, my ankles stopped hurting, like one day, Pain! The...
