Re: Check-In 123: Barrys Lucas Speaking Clock

Evening! My new broadband should be on today, but might not be done before midnight. Will see if it's up tomorrow and if not give the supplier a call. Hopefully they've not tried to phone or email...

Re: Author's Thread #13

True.

Book 15 has one chapter complete of around 40. Expect more kids and a mega romp this time.

Er... what?
The fact that it was labor day wasn't intentional - I didn't even realise until I saw all the posts on here. :D It's definitely an intentional present. :D

Re: Check-In 122: Unbibium Semiprime Egyptian Cops

Rickeh you have a Labor Day present. ;) Check your email but expect it to come from tehibris (at) gmail rather than my old romulus.plus.com account.

(Not intentional.)

Have a great day everyone! :) Been ploughing through my workload today - in the office tomorrow as usual (I go in Tues/Weds).

Re: Author's Thread #13

Cover is redesigned a little. I've added an outer glow to the bloom, and reduced the text glow. :) Same link should still work.

And book 14 is with beta readers. :)

Re: Author's Thread #13

Ok, need to adjust the glow then.

Finished the second read through and made edit notes. Will implement them this week and get the Dramatis personae done.

Re: Author's Thread #13

Fifteen chapters into first pass. The tone is really tricky on this book, but so far it looks about right. Haven't had to do any major rework yet.

Re: Author's Thread #13

And at 107,282 words, AKA 40 chapters, 1 interlude, 1 prologue and 1 epilogue, "Shackles of Ancestry" is drafted. :) I've changed the original epilogue - I was going to do a "Fifty Years In The Future" thing, but couldn't do that without locking in the futures of potentially key ...

Re: Author's Thread #13

Title is one of these: Sword of Diplomacy The Wrongs of Yesteryear What Once Was Lost Shackles of [our?] Ancestry This one is very much about overcoming prejudice, but it's also about how that prejudice can be passed on through the generations after miscommunication or just plain fear. (It can also ...

Re: Author's Thread #13

Two and a half chapters today. Civil war looks to have been averted, which is good considering we're nearly at the end! Got to do a recovery scene followed by a final chapter back at base, then the epilogue.

Then I need a title. Why is that always the hardest thing to come up with?

Re: Check-In 122: Unbibium Semiprime Egyptian Cops

Right. Got my PC tethered to my cellphone so I do at least have connectivity now. :) BT should have called back this afternoon but didn't; if I don't hear from them by mid tomorrow I'll give 'em a call. :)
