Good morning, everyone. :hello:

Today begins my new job and new boss-- who happens to be an old boss, who I met when I first joined the company. It also begins my new fluctuating schedule. Today and tomorrow are good, but Wednesday I have to work 10-6. :as:

Thanks, it went very well. I'm just doing what I've always done, but it felt different. And one of our new regular staff is literally new, so I did some training with her, which was fun. Once the last few lingering crises from the old job fade away, this will be like a permanent vacation.

Geez, buying jeans as an out-of-shape 50 year old is a major PITA. I'm limited by my budget and time constraints (we have a volunteer event at work on Wednesday). Anyway, I found a couple of pair at JC Penney along with three new polo style shirts. Problem is the clerk who rang my order forgot to remove one of the anti-theft devices from one pair of jeans. So, I will have to return tomorrow to have that remedied. Uggghhhh

GM. but.....if they didnt remove it - didnt it set the bleepers off when you left the store, Gary? that happens here, and you get stopped on your way out...
yesterday we three ladies went to Fittleworth to play with sticks and balls in the woods for a few hours after our refreshment break. today, cleaning job, plot trot-unless it rains when that becomes cooking spree - cleaning job.

Good morning!

I overslept, yesterday, because my husband had the alarm set wrong. My trip was wonderful, and I am now depressed to be back in Ohio. It made me realize that most of my family lives in Florida. The exception is my mom, who lives 3 hours away, my sister, who prefers to only talk to me when she needs something, and Addie, who will soon be a teenager that would rather hang out with friends than her aunt. I'm also afraid that I saw my uncle for the last time. The Parkinson's is bad, now. He can barely walk and speak. My aunt, his wife, clung to me as I was leaving, and made me promise to return.

Thursday- We drove to SC and had dinner with my cousin and his wife on their patio. They took the morning off of work, so we spent that time with them. Mom and I are planning a long weekend this Fall to visit them longer.

Friday- We made and 8 hour drive from SC to my aunt's weekend home in Homosassa Springs. We stopped in Gainesville for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants.

Saturday- My 2 sisters, their kids, my brother-in-law, cousin, and her kids all went with us on the boat for a day of boating, swimming, and drinking. We had a cooler filled with 135 Jell-O shots floating on the river in a unicorn float. My uncle got drunk and fell off the boat. :guffaw: Afterwards, we made pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven.

Sunday- my aunt and hungover uncle took us for a boat ride to Monkey Island. We then made a 6 hour drive to my brother's in Panama City Beach. We began seeing destruction from Hurricane Michael about 60 miles inland. Panama City looks like a 3rd world country. :(

Monday- beach with my brother and his girlfriend, and then a backyard BBQ and time in their pool.

Tuesday- The most amazing boat ride, ever! My brother booked a private charter for just the 4 of us. We went out into the Gulf of Mexico and saw about 15 dolphins. Then our captain took us to Shell Island, where we saw cow-nosed rays and sea turtles. We swam there, too.

Wednesday-1 1/2 drive to my aunt and uncle in Ft. Walton Beach. We stopped at Beall's to do some shopping.

Thursday- Beach, dinner, and more pool time at my cousins house. My other cousin, his wife, and son joined us. My aunt made a lasagna, salad, and key lime pie for dinner.

Friday- 7 hour drive to my cousin in Brentwood, TN. We spent the evening in her hot tub on her deck overlooking the valley.

Saturday- 6 1/2 hour drive to my Mom's house.

Sunday- 3 hour drive home.
The only way you may correct the bad things in your past is to add better things to your future.

Happy Chewsday, everyone :hello:

Today I'll meet with movie-review-buddy Greg to review two more movies. After today we'll just about be caught up from my long absence last month. Tonight I'll hang out with a few friends. Maybe I can get some writing done this afternoon, too :writing:

I read somewhere that people over 50 shouldn't be wearing jeans. I still occasionally wear them but I'm beginning to realize that jeans don't mesh with my my sagging and elderly body shape :oldman:

Good morning!

Hope you are feeling better, RJ.

My aunt is under a lot of strain, Madeliaette. She is 81-years-old, and his sole care giver. Two of their kids live in the area, but both have full time jobs. My aunt can barely go out of the house to go to the store. She used to love to go walking at the beach, but had to give that up. :(

Lupine reminded me that Brutus is over due for his rabies shot. I need to make an appointment for him.

We somehow managed to get my uncle back onto the boat. We then had the issue of properly getting him off of the boat, so he would fall between the boat and the dock. He was in bed with a huge glass of water by 6pm.

Work is going great. The doctor is in Europe for two weeks.

Thank you. I mostly do feel better. The sore throat is almost gone. I've developed a little bit of a cough, but I don't think it will keep me up.

Poor lady. :( Aren't there any volunteer organizations in the area that will help elderly people-- or does your uncle maybe qualify for some in-home care from Medicare that would give her some free time.
We somehow managed to get my uncle back onto the boat.
