I'm keeping my various senses open. I'm surprised at the ones that have completed filming and just need to do post production-- you'd think that would be manageable.

I just saw a news clip saying that movies and TV production is back up and running on a limited basis. Please protect Sir Patrick Stewart!

There are no definite dates yet, but they are planning to air the Walking Dead finale, the Walking Dead Millennials show, and the premiere of Fear The Walking Dead all in the Fall. And they're taking the opportunity to polish the script for the Rick movie, so that's definitely still happening.

The play Hamilton was recorded by the original cast many years back and it being broadcast on Disney+. Just another reason I need to subscribe to the service as I've always wanted to watch the musical -- and I hate musicals.

I've been kind of interested in seeing that, too. Hamilton is not exactly my favorite of the Founding Fathers, but he's certainly got an interesting story.

I need to watch Hamilton. I feel like I'm the only person on the planet who hasn't.

No, I haven't seen it either.

But in other news, it's finally happened: New cartoons from Gary Larson.

Yes, he does. But my guess is that because other similar cartoonists who were influenced by his original run have proliferated, Larson will be hard-pressed to ever enjoy the same popularity he enjoyed in the 1980s.

A trailer for Star Trek: Lower Decks is out.

Meh. It honestly looks like an animated version of Orville- only not as clever.

^^ It looks pretty bad, but at least better than Discovery.

I was thinking the same thing. He pretty much changed the face of single panel cartoons, so there's a lot of similar humor out there. And Argyle Sweater is basically a clone of Far Side-- not quite as good, but not bad either. Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal and Poorly Drawn Lines also fill the niche of science-based and surreal humor without being imitative.

Still, it could be fun to watch. I hope so.

Right. I guess time will tell. In the meantime, it's good to have him back, even if he doesn't reach the same level of success as before.

Well, he seems to be just posting online rather than going back to syndication, so probably not. Although Berke Breathed eventually took his Bloom County revival to GoComics.

Meh. Looks like something aimed at "edgy" teenagers. Hard pass.

^Though what's kind of dumb (other than the cartoon itself) is that some Youtubers are already calling it a flop. :wtf: I agree that it doesn't look good, but at least let it premiere first, people!
