Well, I figured out part of it. Links to Twitter should automatically embed, but you used the [url] code, which blocked it. It had nothing to do with the mobile address. I'll edit your most recent link to demonstrate.

But the other weird thing is that I also use Malwarebytes and it's not blocking me. :conf:

And the House of Representatives have voted to make District of Columbia a state!
It will now go the Senate where it will die. :rip:
I understand the desire to do this, but really the Democrats are just wasting their time here. There's no way on Earth that the Senate Republicans or Trump will allow a new state to form that will likely be Democrat.

^^ Yeah, bad timing is kind of a Left-Wing specialty. But DC should definitely be a state, as should Puerto Rico.
An excellent speech. The commentator who says he actually sounds like a president is right on.

Article I, Section 8
To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings;–And
The District of Columbia was explicitly defined in the Constitution as a separate entity so that no State would have "direct influence" within the Federal Government. I disagree with granting statehood.

^From what I understand, the entire District won't be part of the new state (if it ever actually happens). The area around the White House and governmental buildings would remain in the District of Columbia whereas the residential areas would be the state.
But again this is academic as this isn't happening anytime in the near future.

Yeah, it's really about citizens of DC having Federal rights. I don't see how Statehood would give the place more or less influence than it has now anyway.

^Statehood would give the residents Senators and Representatives in Congress instead of a non-voting delegate.

Right, that would be giving the citizens Federal rights. But how would this give them "direct influence?" They would have the same representation as any other State.

The Right Wingers would be against it because there are two black parts and one white part, and the Left Wingers would be against it because the white part is protected by the two black parts.

That's a great video, but I really think the Russkies are wasting their rubles. The Right-Wingnuts and the Left-Wingnuts are perfectly capable of destroying America on their own.

No, being an arsehole is never worth it. It's so much more important to be happily toiling in obscurity than to be miserably famous. And that's Trump.
