^I'm not sure about hanging, but a lot of these people need to go to jail.

I highly doubt that will happen however. We'll be lucky just to get out of this with the country intact.

Here is an interesting article that came up on my Google home page today. scotty has probably already seen it. The guy has it pretty correct, even if his fish analogy is a little weird, but he should have expanded his focus to include the even bigger problem-- the social media influencers who control the thoughts of the street-level zealots.
And the street-level zealots who let themselves be controlled.

I hadn't read that article, but now I have. I like it. Strangely enough, I know the lead author, Keith Campbell. Even more strangely, he's a Trump supporter -- an extremely rare thing among academicians.
Interesting. Has he told you why he supports The Donald?

#2) The entire Trump administration needs to face a Nuremburg type trial. And yes, many should be hanged.
emma wants to be a part of the firing squad. I'm kind of glad that she can't post on Facebook anymore.

Indeed, but it will be a long time before there is a cure for religion. Some people think the world is driven by hate, and some people think the world is driven by greed, but it's really driven by insecurity.

But I have to wonder if that was vandalism or was it intended to come down. I'm way past tired of people knocking down statues and otherwise destroying property.

Yeah, it doesn't help things. Just gives these people a persecution complex.

You just can't make some of this stuff up.
It's almost like some kind of social experiment where they're trying to see at what point his base breaks with him.

Unbelievable. But very appropriate.

It's definitely a social experiment. The only question is whether anyone is conducting it.

Next week Trump will dress like a clown and eat a baby on live TV.

His approval ratings will drop to 39.9%.

 Yes, it's really quite amazing, and disheartening.

I'm convinced that Trump will go down in history as the Spite President. Forty percent of our country just couldn't handle us having a Black President for eight years, and so they elected Trump just out of spite.

Here's an article explaining how the "culture war" explains why Trump's support hasn't eroded during the pandemic and economic downturn.

Temporarily. Then they'll drift back up to 42%.

Except that a lot of people who voted for Obama also voted for The Donald. And a lot of people who voted for The Donald would have voted for Sanders.
People have increasingly voted by party for years. This is why we need election reform. The two-party system has got to go.

Two things, and they both have to happen for it to work:

1) Eliminate the Electoral College.
2) Institute ranked voting.

Number one is so that everyone's vote counts-- this will both increase turnout and eliminate the Blue State versus Red State nonsense. Candidates will have to campaign to everybody.

Number two is so that independent and third-party candidates are both viable and no longer tilt the election in an unwanted direction (voting for a third-wheel candidate generally gets you your least favorite candidate elected).

And in other news, apparently Scientific American has endorsed Joe Biden-- the first time it has ever endorsed a candidate.

^^ That's good. I wish more periodicals took a stand. I also wish George W. Bush and Obama would do a TV commercial together endorsing Biden.

^Not sure that's even needed as George W isn't as adored among Republicans as he was during his Presidency. He's almost become the Forgotten President.
