Fox news is going ballistic about some sort of mainstream media coverup of the latest Hunter Biden scandal. Do any of you know what that's about? The other news pages are barely giving it any coverage at all.

^It's a confused tale of lost laptops and mysterious emails. Most (serious) people are dismissing it as nothing.

This article gives some details.

And another article.

These next two weeks are going to be telling for Trump in that he has finished his course of the steroid. Meanwhile, watch some of the recent speeches he's been giving. His breathing is labored and his voice is gravely. He keeps proclaiming he is now immune from Covid when he is, in fact, more susceptible to becoming reinfected. Herman Cain was diagnosed and then died within five weeks. Given Trump's recklessness, I wouldn't be shocked if he dies around or shortly after the election.

Another Republican whose legacy is forever tarnished -- if he doesn't endorse Biden before the election -- is George W. Bush. He has such a golden opportunity to do something good for the country. The fact that he remains silent is criminal.

That is disappointing, given his friendship with the Obamas.

Rudy Guiliani's daughter has endorsed Biden.

But is not surprising.

He does not approve of Trump. He doesn't feel the need to weigh on the dogpile and would rather be like former Presidents have always done, which is to disappear from the public eye after leaving office.

As Elie Wiesel, a holocaust survivor, once said, "We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented."

^I understand the sentiment, but sometimes you do have to stay neutral if you don't have enough information to make a rational decision.

Probably doesn't count in Bush's case.

I don't think Mr. Bush is neutral at all and, most likely, he doesn't want to wade into the "Wrestling with a pig in the mud" contest. Just remember, he was caught saying, "That was some really weird shit" when Trump finished his inaugural address.

I am less worried about Mr. Bush's opinion and more concerned that the GOP is actively working to suppress voter participation.

^^ Yes, the voter suppression going on, all of it in plain sight, is outrageous. The new slogan should be Black Votes Matter.

I haven't heard of it till just now, but I looked it up-- does it offer any solutions?

Yes. Some former executives and Facebook and Google left those companies because their calls for ethical computing were ignored. So they started up the Institute for Humane Technology, and they're beating the drum for greater regulation of these tech industries, all in the interest of protecting the consumer and society from harm.

Trump turns his ire toward Cabinet members

Trump continues bizarre appeals to suburban women as he campaigns in Covid hotspots

He's going off the deep end. Hopefully, that will be his undoing. Once he's out of office, I hope the authorities are waiting to arrest him for the forthcoming state charges.
