Infirmary Thread #16: LOL Is The Best Rx

Even wilder and wackier than pre-crash Miscellaneous, the survivors talk about the weather, puppies, work, and coffee.

Yikes. Yeah, I hope that resolves itself quickly. I had a reaction like that when I got a sunburn at Daytona Beach one time.

My gosh, Cayla. I really hope you feel better and get some better rest. Is Ron taking care of you at all?

Ron take care of me? :guffaw:

He usually vacates the premises, and leaves me to take care of myself.

while he's out he can make himself useful and buy some of your favourite chocolate!

My MRI results came today: my spine is in top shape for my age. So my back pains must be muscular. The orthopedist prescribed 18 months (!) of gymnastics. I hope my insurance refuses to ok that. I'm far too lazy! :p (silver lining: a rather well reputed fitness studio where I could do that medical gymnastics under the tutelage of a specialist is just across the street)

Sorry about the gymnastics, though. What the hell do they expect you to do? The uneven bars or balance beam or something? :gold1:

I'm thinking Medical Gymnastics in Europe, is what we call Physical Therapy here in the states.

I'm still sniffling, but getting better every day. I have been having a hard time sleeping, partly due to not being able to breath through my nose, and partly due to Max having sun downers. For two nights, he kept me up with his pacing, and going up and down the steps (also falling down the steps). By morning, he is so tired, he eats his treats lying down. Last night I opted to drug him with some gabapentin. It was an old prescription of his. I was at least able to sleep a solid 6 hours, before the Nyquil I took wore off. The night before, I was up at 1am, and did not go back to sleep until 45 minutes before my alarm went off.

That makes sense. It's also slightly disappointing.

That's awful. I'm glad the Gabapentin works for him. Will you be able to get more?

Very disappointing. I'd love to see sick, feeble people doing flips on the balance beam.

Cayla, I hope you're able to sleep better.

For the first time since Friday, I finally had a full night of sleep last night. I didn't even have to drug Max. Yes, I can get more pills for him, but I have plenty here. This cold has now taken up residence in my throat, but I feel fine otherwise. I feel even better now that I had a normal amount of sleep.

I think my nose is just about back to normal. So it took only 10 days to recover from the doctor's freeze-spray.

My office manager has pink eye, too. We must have picked it up in the office. We both now have plenty of antibiotic eye drops, with a few refills to spare. ;)

^^ Oh, man, I hope that clears up quickly. Summertime is no time for pink eye. :blankstare:

That's good news for you, and bad news for your doctor's career as a Batman villain.

I guess I should be disappointed that he didn't inject me with radioactivity or expose me to gamma rays. My superhero career as Captain Chocolate would have been fun. :knight:

hope that is the last of your run of poor health, Cayla!
i havent had anything other than 'normal' sinus allergiues/menopausal symptoms - the latter heated me up so i woke up cira 2am with a feverish head and later on it turned to a headache... for once NOT sinus related, so chilis are not the cure - green goo, paracetamol and tons of water later, i feel a bit better....for now.

The left eye is much better, today. The right eye not so much, but it doesn't feel like there is sand in it anymore. My eyes should be fine by tomorrow. It figures, I had offers of fun things to do with friends this weekend. Swimming was one of them, but I can't with this stupid pink eye. As soon as I tell everyone I have it, they want to avoid me as if I have the plague.
