U-haul truck is reserved for pickup next Thursday. Insurance cutover for the car is next Tuesday; insurance for the new house takes effect next Tuesday (which is also the closing); and insurance for my existing house, which will be leased, takes effect 6/1. I scheduled power to be cut at my existing house on the 28th, which is the end of the billing cycle, while electricity to the new house takes effect next Tuesday. The next two challenges will be water & trash along with gas. Getting Internet set up for the new house should be a breeze. I'm hoping the lawyer will have the lease and sales contract ready soon.
So you'll be actually living in your new house as of June 1st?
Set up the appointment for gas service to be active next week. All that's left is water & trash. Anyway, I will be living in there by Memorial Day with 90% of my stuff moved. I will now refer to my houses as "country house" and "city house". Some items will be left for my friend/tenant, such as tools, so we (yes, we) can do work on the country house so it will meet the appraisal. After that, he'll be coming to the city house to help me with some changes I want to make.

It's all working so well that I have a bundle of nerves running through me.

Happy Thursday, everyone :hello:

We'll go down the river to Nuremberg today and then rent a car for a few days. After being on buses and boats, I'm a little nervous about driving in Germany given that I don't know a single German word. I wish huggle could help me

Cayla, sounds like you're doing a pretty good job of not letting all the drama around you get to you. Keep drawing that anti-drama zone around yourself

RJ, I learned that a fortress is merely a female fort. :vixen:

Glad to hear emma will get a healthy computer soon. I can just imagine how disappointed she is about her house closing falling through. Let's hope that doesn't happen to Gary.

Hope y'all have a great day

Whoa, less than two weeks. Things are happening fast.
It's all working so well that I have a bundle of nerves running through me.
I'll bet. Is it possible to take a week or so off after the move?

Good morning!

I cannot wait to see what drama unfolds today

RJ, it is strange that the strange people are back. I don't know why, but I am picturing a group of people that only RJ can see, and they cannot see him. Like a Twilight Zone episode. Where did they go? Why are they there? Are they ever going to leave?

scottydog, I am enjoying your photos of Germany on FB.

That is too bad about Emma's house not being sold. She needs to have a bit more patience. It will sell.

Gary, I am sure your are anxious about nothing. It sounds like you have thought of everything, so I am sure it will all go fine.

Today's agenda....buy vegetable plants for the garden, go to Malley's for Mom to buy chocolates for our hosts on our trip, a stop at Walmart, Pick up meds from the vet, a walk, and laundry.

One week from today, and I will be on the road with my mother. I'm getting excited about it.

I wonder who that was-- and if anybody's heard from them in the past year.
Only a handful of people have the keys. The sad reality is that the leadership are the ones responsible. I've never left a job site without a final walk through to make sure everything is OK.

Another soggy, chilly day in Germany. We got rained on while walking around Bamberg and I don't think the temp exceeded 50 degrees. Thank goodness I remembered to pack my raincoat.

It is like a Twilight Zone episode. Unfortunately, they can see me, but luckily, they are not here today. They are homeless friends of my Cousin who he is trying to help, which is great-- but having two strangers in my house is just terrible. It inhibits everything that I normally do and makes it difficult to sleep. I hope they never come back, but now I can't be sure.
That is too bad about Emma's house not being sold. She needs to have a bit more patience. It will sell.
It will, but it's just disappointing after thinking it was a done deal.

Me, too. She really wants to get away from this gated community that she's in, plus she really needs the money to repair the financial damage done by Fiduciary.

^^ I don't blame you for feeling so uncomfortable while they're at your place. I would hate to have complete strangers crashing at my place without my permission.

Maybe it's time to set booby traps around your house. Nothing that would kill them, just annoy them. Like every time they turn on a lamp or light switch, their face gets sprayed with mustard.

Happy Friday, all :hello:

We'll get in our rental car today and continue to explore southern Germany. RJ, I think you're right that "es tut mir leid" will come in handy.

One thing that really strikes me about this country is how forested it is. Germany is mostly wooded, reflecting how much their people value nature and trees.

Maddy, I think you posted on Facebook that your internet connection has mended itself. That's good

Cayla, I hope there is less drama going on in your neck of the woods.

Good morning!

Well, Nick's brother decided yesterday evening, that Lisa is too much for him right, now, she we had to drive to Akron at 9pm to pick her up. I agreed to let her stay here one night, as her friend, who is trying to help, was going to pick her up in the morning. We get to my house, and she already decided to leave with one of her drug friends. We tried. I was able to get some information out of her to relay to the attorney. He filed a class action law suit against the county jail in December. Now he is filing a civil suit for Nick's 4 kids, but he needs to find someone in the family of sound mind to responsibly administrate everything.

The funeral is tomorrow afternoon. :(

Tonight the church is having a chicken paprikash dinner. I didn't want to work it, but pastor talked me into it. I still may not work it. I'm tired.

Yesterday, was trash day here, too.

scottydog, it is the Tour of the South. My mother does get on my nerves. Three days is my maximum limit of her, so this should be interesting. We are staying with different relatives, so hopefully interacting with other people will help.
