Nothing but clowns today, with a high of 27. Luckily it's not supposed to get any colder overnight. But the big Nor'easter is due in less than an hour and we're supposed to get over ten inches. As long as the power doesn't go out, I'll be happy.

^^ I hope you can ride out the storm okay, RJ. It's a big one. I'm so glad we only had rain. Skies are clearing out now.

I hope Sci-Fi girl is okay. I think she's getting clobbered by the storm. :scared:

Yesterday (tuesday): High 26, low 11.

Today (wednesday): High 22, low 16.

- my house: Predicting a foot or more of snow tonight, plus 1-3 more inches tomorrow morning.
(All dry and fluffy snow, 1 inch or more per hour at times tonight)

- Philly: 3-5 inches this afternoon + 3-5 inches tonight, but it's supposed to change to a lot of rain / sleet.

^^ I'm glad to see you're still with us.

I'm thoroughly buried in snow, with twelve-to-fifteen hours to go. Luckily, the wind doesn't seem that bad.

Today: High 23, low 8.

I'm not sure how much snow is out there, but it's a lot! Some towns near me are reporting up to 27 inches! (But that can vary widely.)

Says something about 5-8 inches MORE this morning!

Well, we had blizzard conditions all night, and most of the day, although the sun tried to peek through in the afternoon. The high was 34, but it's already down to 25. The wind wasn't too bad, but it picked up during the day. According to the local stations, we got about 13 inches. Other towns around here got anywhere from 9 to 15.

Sunny days? Not here. :P :D

Last week was so nice, I wore a short sleeved shirt to my RA appointment on Thursday, it was 60. By Friday it was low 40's and raining, Saturday it turned to snow, with strong winds and dropped to 30, Sunday we had a high of 19. Today, we had frost hores, I mean, hoar frost on everything, and it was dreary out, but we hit 26 degrees. Tomorrow, Friday, we are going to hit 40's with high, south winds. Never know how to dress. When it was only 19, it was sunny, so I got too warm in my gear, but today, while warmer temps, I was chilly feeling in the same outfit because no sun.

By the time it stopped, there must have been 2.5 to 3 feet.

There is a news station that covers a large portion of upstate NY, and they have a page where they assemble all the snow reports from weather spotters around different parts of the area.

Here is an archive of that page from 11:30 am, this morning:

https://web.archive.org/web/20201217163 ... w_list.asp

Here's a tip, some of the entries have a camera icon next to them, and that means there is a picture attached. Just click on the "view" button for that line to see it (not on the camera button itself).

For example, these three are particularly notable:

Did you get any snow at all, Cayla? You were probably too far west to be affected.

Some of those photos are shocking! Do the snowplows clear your roads well in your area?

It's warming again with today's high forecast to be in the low-50s. Winds will be above 20mph, which means no burning today. Other than that, the temps should remove a lot of the remnants of this week's snow.

Variable weather here yesterday. Started off with mid-level clowns and the wind. The clowns left but the wind increased to about 30 mph, blowing dust around. High topped off at 66. Around evening the wind let up a bit but more clowns came in and the humidity went up. Felt almost like it was going to rain, but didn't. Low was 31.

We had a blizzard. It was over by late last night, but it stayed clowny today and it was cold. The high was 28. Digging out my car wasn't too bad, because the lot was plowed well for a change, it was just that the snow was hard because of the cold. But the way the snow drifted, there was more snow on my hood than there was blocking me in.

37º and will warm to the upper-40s. Winds are low, so I'm going to burn another pile.

The clowns broke up around sunrise and it was a very sunny day-- snow blindingly sunny, actually-- with just a few puffy white clowns. The high was only 30, but there was still some melting because of the sunshine. Tonight won't be quite as cold as last night.

Dreary, foggy, high of 26 and north winds. It is suppose to be clear Monday night, better be, I want to see the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn!

Nothing but clowns today, except for one, brief shining moment of sunshine in the afternoon. Now we've got snow or sleet or something out there. The high was 37, but it's only going down to 30 overnight.
