Maddie and RJ, I inhaled more than I wanted to, and, even though it was in a bag, I got some on my hands. On the way to the store to return it, the smell spread in the car, but at least the wind wasn't blowing sand around, so I could open the windows, but my tongue was swelling, and it's about a ten minute ride. So I got it into the store, where they promptly threw it out and sprayed my hands with some stuff to get rid of the smell. Then I washed my hands, got my refund, and we thought maybe the stuff had gone rancid on the shelf.

Yikes. It sounds like they took good care of you, though.

Yeah, they did, and, Maddie, no rashes. No need to open windows this morning, which is good, since the bad smell in the kitchen is gone and it's hot and muggy outside.

Hey, passin' thru, as is my wont.

Nothing much to tell. Starting to lose weight as preparation for being a donor for m'son. Work is work. Trying to get a new script up and running, and reading probably the best Discworld novel ('Night Watch'). As spring starts to kick in here, I seem to be coming out of hibernation and getting my act together... very, very slowly.

Reading back thru the thread, some of you are going thru tough times. I hope you keep strong, and find the moments of pleasure in each day. HUGS FOR EVERYONE!!!

I have cropped circa 120 photos for my bird blog so far from my AUGUST stash...and am still only about halfway thru them all......at this rate i will be posting august photos til christmas!

My laptop won't open the camera and download new pics again. Looking forward to more of your bird photos.

Hi everyone!

I slept very late this morning. So now I have to spend the rest of the day getting the rest of my weekly school work done. I want everything done and passed in so that all I have to worry about tomorrow is the weekly test.

I got an email from a place I applied to three months ago. It's for a part-time accounting assistant. I don't know if I'm still interested as it's a 40 or so minute drive up and down some pretty steep hills for a job with no benefits. Benefits is kind of a big deal for me. I really need the health insurance (as my COBRA has run out). So, I'm torn. I guess I'll email them back and tell them that I'm really looking for a full-time position and see what they say.

Anyway, need to get to the classwork if I'm to get it done today.

It seems at times that every doctor that has seen him recently has mutually exclusive opinions. Best option now is to keep an eye on dad (as usual) and hope for the best.

Yeah, that happens. Unfortunately, doctors have to base their opinions of evidence most of the time and evidence is subject to interpretation-- especially since each patient is an individual and a piece of evidence can mean different things for different people. His primary doctor is the one who knows him best and should be the one who can put all the evidence in the best context. The news sounds pretty optimistic, though.

Probably because Avast! opened a window and tried to sell me something while I was opening the camera, and it's sulking.

I can fix it. Very easy.

1) Close the laptop, unplug, remove battery.

2) Bash it against a large rock seven times or until rock breaks apart, whichever occurs first.

3) Toss laptop and buy a new one. Sell battery and charger on Ebay.


Works EVERY time. Never had this method fail.

Well. I have one of those DIY home-soda-making kits. Cottage cheese... and pizza.

Also way too much time on my hands.

I am reporting live from my lab right now (actually the kitchen) and I can say with 100% conviction and truth that we are in absolutely ZERO danger of this reaching market any time soon.

I have to go back to the specialist in the last week of the year. If he can see I'm losing or have lost the weight, they'll plan for some time 2014Q2. But I can't have lost 4-5 lbs, it'll have to be more than that, if not the whole 65.

But I find just thinking about NOT eating seems to be working so far. Greater efforts will be required, but it's a start, when I weigh myself next I'll let you know.

jgc, PT work sounds good - (wouldn't that give you time over to keep going with your schoolwork assignments? then maybe work to FT when they had a vacancy/your schooling was done....? sounds logical to me....)
Hmm, Australis... losing weight tips: cut out soda - esp if LP has 'created it' - meat, half yr carbs and dairy. a diet of fruit veg fish nuts seeds grains and spices is much healthier and slimminger. (well if LP can invent sodas, i can invent words!!)
