Cute hedgehog. It looks a lot like a groundhog. To tell the difference, ask for a weather forecast.

It does look like a groundhog.

The bird imprint is kind of cool, but crazy.

It is crazy.

Maybe he thought he could trip a sensor, like that bird at the airport.

Mom's neighborhood after the downpour yesterday:

It doesn't quite capture the mistiness in the air, but it's not bad.

It's a pretty small retirement community, although it's bigger than it looks there. That road continues down to a cul-de-sac off to the right and then the whole thing is mirrored off in the other direction. Then there's another road that you can barely see past the second house on the other side that continues down to the clubhouse and the road that connects to Route 18. And then past the clubhouse there's another stretch of road that continues down to another cul-de-sac.

^ Sounds like the perfect retirement community. How far is it from your place on Hancock?

It depends on the time of day. I get there in 35 minutes on Saturday mornings, but it can take 45 minutes to an hour to get home.

Here's some fireworks from Mother Nature from this morning:

I took this from the edge of a cliff at Moswetuset Hummock, possible source of the name Massachusetts, which just happens to be where the United States of America was born. :cooldude:

Here's some pics of some fireworks from 2017. I'm three miles from the park where they are shot from so I can stand outside my door and see them.

Some pictures from yesterday morning:

Image
Sunrise.

Image
Sunrise, with added surf (those are tidal waves for Quincy Bay).

Image

Image
A couple of birds in flight.

Image
And then I stopped down at Caddy Park to check out the, uh, other birds.

Another set of great shot's, RJ!
And a couple of shots from me.

First up Gimpy with his latest batch of chicks.

They'll probably be leaving this week.

And coming home from Big Bear.

Cute. So there are a total of three babies this time?
And coming home from Big Bear.

Yeah. I'm wondering if 3 are standard for them.

Love that pic of Gimpy, Lupy

I wonder how many times they'll use that same nest for breeding?

Plus, that view coming home from Big Bear is amazing

On the High Desert Wildlife group on Facebook the pics gotten over 250 likes  . Gimpy is possibly the most popular roadrunner in the world.

No idea. This year has been a learning experience with roadrunners.

I've always enjoyed it. At one point on the road, on a clear day, you can see the Panamint Mountains which are around 60 miles away. :mountain:
