I love your pics, Maddie. I especially like the birds, the way they're lit up.
Here's a photo of Mt San Jacinto, and because it's cut down to post, the tiny little trees on the slopes may or may not show up. Here's hoping! Hummingbird and slightly larger bird to follow. These I took with the new lens, then put the other lens on for roses.

I can see some little lumps along one slope....they are probably the trees you mean, Emma! Good shot either way.

Ah, a new picture thread. No wonder I didn't see it before.
Very nice. The river with the sun and birds is especially nice, but the town looks like a cool place to visit. I'd love to go to that theater.Madeliaette wrote:ok, here are a trio from yesterdays 10 hr excursion:
The trees are visible. I also love the texture of the mountainside. And the bird delicately perched on that thin branch is cool.emma glitch wrote:Here's a photo of Mt San Jacinto, and because it's cut down to post, the tiny little trees on the slopes may or may not show up. Just for fun, I took a shot of the moon with the original lens full out, went home to change lenses, took another from the same spot with the new lens full out. I don't carry the tripod when I'm walking, so will arrange to do this again somewhere else.

That's pretty cool. I've had season tickets to our local theater for over thirty years now, and pretty much the same seats every month.Madeliaette wrote:It sometimes does plays still - but doubles as a cinema these days - when i was a teen, i used to have set seats and go to every show the local amateur company produced - loved fiddler on the roof, guys n dolls, don giovanni....
Whoa! I want to be able to take pictures of the moon like that.emma glitch wrote:Just for fun, I took a shot of the moon with the original lens full out, went home to change lenses, took another from the same spot with the new lens full out. I want you to be able to too.RJDiogenes wrote:Whoa! I want to be able to take pictures of the moon like that.
Yeah, and it's fun! I don't take it with me on my walk every morning, and when I don't, I'm usually sorry. This morning I missed a large flock of ducks and at least 9 snowy egrets at the pond.Madeliaette wrote:wow that lens sure makes a major diff, Emma!
But I managed to check out the roses. The orange one is the first new Colorific bud I've seen in a couple weeks. The Paradise and Angel Face are busting out all over. December seems to be our June.

^^ That could definitely work.
I love those pics of the hummingbird frozen in mid flap, and I always like the raindrops on the flowers.

I try to take advantage of every opportunity I get to shoot the flowers after the rain. As for the hummingbird, pure luck! I saw it, the camera was in focus, I managed four or five before it flew off.RJDiogenes wrote:^^ That could definitely work.

Perspectives, and a bird.
