It's romcom contemporary for my publisher. Though this is under the LGBT imprint while my first book will be their M/F one.

Now that I've submitted all three stories and there's still six days to the extended deadline, I'm wondering if I can come up with a fourth story. What other silly thing has happened in the news lately that I can turn into an Eldritch Horror?

I joined two author groups to share new releases. Two! Neither is bothering to post about my book coming out tomorrow despite me getting them the info a week ago and jumping through every hoop. I don’t know why I try. I don’t know why I bend over backwards to help other authors. I don’t know why I shouldn’t expect people to stab me in the back the second they get what they want.

Well, all you can do is try. If they're not helping you, then dump them and find someplace else.

It's fucking annoying as shit that I keep putting in the effort and other people benefit without returning it. Just dumping them and going somewhere else doesn't help me at all.

"Top Dog" got rejected. It was a long shot anyway.

A lot of the places wanting short-stories are. I don't know what Analog's problem is.

I sent Sweet Madeline off to my editor so here's hoping it doesn't get rejected.

Good luck! :fingerscrossed:

It sounds kind of like a Neil Diamond song, so that... probably won't make any difference either way, actually.

Went to look for address labels- only to discover that Tor has changed their address.
Went to print a new address label- one sheet of that left.
Went to print said address sheet- only to find that the printer doesn't want to take the paper.
Got one sheet of paper to feed- only to find that the black ink cartridge (which is showing partially full) isn't working.

Some people would call this a bad day.
I call it Tuesday.

EDIT: the printer needed a good cleaning top to bottom. Seems to be working OK now.

Nothing today, but I looked up their email from 2017. It came on the 12th and they apologized for being late, so maybe it's the same thing.

I have a new huge problem. I updated my Gettin' Lucky book with a link to the next in the series. No big deal, right? Amazon's suddenly decided that I'm not the copyright holder of my own book and I don't have the right to publish it. I explained it was in an anthology before, I sent the right reversal. They say that isn't enough. I want to rip my hair out. They won't explain at all what the problem is, they're acting like I stole it. I want to scream.

That's weird. I didn't think they did things like that unless they got a complaint. Can you get a letter from the publisher of the anthology, maybe? Or just refer them to the copyright notice in the anthology?

I did send them the PDF of the reversal of rights from the anthology publisher. Amazon just brushed it off and said it wasn't enough. I don't even know if the anthology is the problem. They don't explain shit.

The god damn algorithm. In the end I had to have the original publisher email them to say that I had the right. It's such a fucking mess. Amazon, leaves the real plagiarizers in order to attack writers.
