Author's Check-In #7.
Re: Author's Check-In #7.
Mostly the typos, any inconsistencies or oddness - I want to make sure I haven't missed anything obvious.

Added a little to Diaspora. I think it might be ready for a reading. Meanwhile I put work in on the spin-off and an opening scene, despite the fact it doesn't even have a title yet- if ever.

Re: Author's Check-In #7.
Someone wants to quote me in his own self published book. I have no idea how to feel about that.
Arisen from the ashes of many burned asunder accounts I come to fill your heart with blackest ink and glitter!

^Depends on what he wants to quote I guess. But otherwise it sounds cool.

Indeed. Quotes can go either way. But I'm sure he's going to use it in a positive way. Just be sure he identifies you as "author of the best-selling Dwarves In Space series."
Amazingly, considering the complexity, I noticed no inconsistencies. All the activities in the different time zones seemed to match up well and so forth. Not that I kept a spreadsheet or anything, but everything seemed fine.Jim Gamma wrote:Mostly the typos, any inconsistencies or oddness - I want to make sure I haven't missed anything obvious.

^I actually did have a spreadsheet... with stuff happening so close together, it's REALLY tricky to keep track of.

It was from The King's Blood (I assume yanked off goodreads) and he thought I was a guy at first so who knows.RJDiogenes wrote:Indeed. Quotes can go either way. In an amazing twist of synchronicity, Glenn Whitmore has offered to illustrate a Blue Cowl comic book story.

I guess using your initials worked. Did he give any clue what his book is about?blablover5 wrote:It was from The King's Blood (I assume yanked off goodreads) and he thought I was a guy at first so who knows.

Well, he's on Facebook and he's got an author's page at a place called AuthorsDen. This isn't his first book. Might as well go for it. Any publicity is good publicity, or so they say.blablover5 wrote:His name's Wendell W. Thorne and for a book called "The Hot Dog King." That's all I know.
I know, I'm stunned. Now I must come up with an eight-page story that sums up the Blue Cowl universe.Lupine wrote:

^Definitely worth it.
Didn't get as much formatting done on Diaspora as I hoped yesterday (I got busy scanning the pics I had found). I have enough though to submit to Tor (they want the first three chapters), but I still need to write a synopsis (ugh).

And book 4 has been started. (EDIT - Chapter One complete, and sets the scene for the next few. )

Hopefully I can come up with an idea this weekend.Lupine wrote:^Definitely worth it.
I hate synopses. Sounds like a medical condition. "Male, Caucasian, 55, history of kidney stones and synopses. Start an IV, stat."Didn't get as much formatting done on Diaspora as I hoped yesterday (I got busy scanning the pics I had found).
