Last year I came for two dear friends, and took time to explore
The shows on offer at the Fringe, but left here wanting more.
I'd only booked for half a week; that's really not enough,
To sample what's on offer - the choice was rather tough!
So when I left I made a vow that I'd return next year.
And then in March I gave a cry - "August's nearly here!"
Thus I began to book a week of music, plays and talks,
Comedy and tragedy, along with guided walks,
For Edinburgh is full of life and quite the magic maze;
Of closes, wynds and steps to leave old Indy in a daze!
When all was planned I settled back to wait until 'twas time,.
To head up north and visit this festival sublime.
The week is all but over now; I've seen my final show,
The curtain falls and soon 'twill be back home that I must go.
I'm sad to leave but I have seen the shows I came to see,
Thanks to those stars upon the stage for entertaining me.
With songs and jokes and moral tales to leave us wanting more,
You touched the hearts of all your fans, we felt it at our core.
The festival continues on but more I'll witness none,
So to you revellers I say, enjoy it and have fun,
The Fringe is everyone's to share, so why not bring your friends
To Scotland's capital and see the latest show-biz trends,
Before they're hot and cheaper than you could in London Town,
Acts small and large, unknowns and those of worldwide renown.
Will I return in years to come? Alas, I cannot tell;
The future is not mine to see, but this I know full well:
That far more does await here, for those who take the time
To come to Edinburgh and along the Mile climb,
To see the sights, to hear the sounds that seek your wand'ring gait,
To smell the scents, to taste the foods that make this country great!

Re: The Fringe
Dude! You must write more poetry. That was great.
