Questions Only V: Where's The Beef?

Have you ever seen one of those movies where someone visits a mental hospital, gets mistaken for a patient, and can't convince anyone that he's sane?

Do you realize that scenario is one of my greatest fears?

Have you actually had nightmares about that happening?

You mean I've never told you of my recurring dream of being imprisoned with a false identity in an institution? And I'm wearing a mask and when they take off the mask, my face is completely blank, with no facial features whatsoever?

Have you ever thought of turning that into a story or short film?

How many of your nighttime dreams have you turned into stories that you've written?

There have been a bunch of stories and poems, but would you believe I can't remember how many at this point?

Why do you suppose we seem to be more creative at night than in the daytime?

[RJDiogenes]

Could it be that our subconscious feels more free to relax and wander at night?

[scottydog]

Do you suppose meditational practices while awake might be able to produce this state of creative relaxation?

[RJDiogenes]

Have you ever heard of lucid dreaming?

[scottydog]

If I'm not terribly lucid in my waking state, can I possibly achieve lucidity while asleep?

[RJDiogenes]

Do you think you might be able to save up your lucidity to use when you're asleep?

[scottydog]

Wouldn't I be doing myself a disservice by lucidly controlling the content of my dreams instead of allowing my unconscious imagination to run wild and produce more genuinely creative dreams?

Why not do both?
