And isn't this also true of those who lived in poverty or died young from war or disease, or who were simply born too soon to make use of their talents?

So there isn't just White privilege -- there's also temporal privilege? And we can start saying "Check your temporal privilege"?

Do you want to give up the benefits of the modern world because people in the past didn't have them?

Do you think anyone feels "temporal guilt" for having advantages early humans didn't have? Sort of like "survivor's guilt"?

Wouldn't sympathy or pity be more likely reactions than guilt?

Will people in the future be looking back at us today with pity or with envy?

Will the people of the future be looking back at us at all?

[scottydog]

Are you suggesting there may not be much of a future for humanity?
