The big mystery is whether or not the show is going to end this season. Are we finally getting to the point where the Winchester's actions will lead to the consequences Billie warned them about? We knew it would be a matter of time before Michael would escape from the prison inside of Dean, and this episode shows that could be coming soon. Another big question is what will become of Nick.

I doubt that the show will end this year. Supernatural has been such a mainstay of the network for so many years, I think they will give them plenty of time to wrap things up, like they've done with other shows. I think we've got at least a couple of more years to go.

"We only hug when it's literally the end of the world."

This was a good episode, with a lot of stuff going on and an ominous feeling of imminent doom. It was pretty clear that Dean was saying good-bye to everybody (which made the absence of Cass and Jack all the more glaring, but budgets are budgets). The disappearance of unspecified books and Dean's mysterious work in the shed unfolded nicely, leading up to his-- or rather, Billie's-- solution to encroaching Apocalypse.

Nick's presence, and entire storyline, seemed odd and ill fitting, so I'm thinking it's not over yet. I'm wondering if Sam's speech at the end got through to him, now that Abraxis is dead. My current theory is that Nick will volunteer to host Michael and he is the one who will end up at the bottom of the ocean in the magic coffin.

I was really fearing for Donna's life there for a few minutes. I'm glad they didn't kill her off. Maybe they've finally learned their lesson about killing off beloved characters.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I thought it was weird that Mary couldn't defeat Nick. She's been fighting monsters for decades, and he's just a normal guy now. What was up with that?

One of Supernatural's biggest problems -- inconsistent writing. :D

I'm thinking Nick is somehow going to resurrect Lucifer from The Empty.

This was a nice episode. I had forgotten that Donatello was still alive, so it was a pleasant surprise that Cass was able to save him. I felt bad for the impaired prophet whose life degenerated into murder and suicide through no fault of his own.

But Donatello's surprising recovery helped turn the tide with Dean, who-- apparently-- has agreed to try all other options before consigning himself to the magic coffin with Michael. Sam's little drunken rant was pretty convincing, too. I'm not sure if the punch did any good.

I'm not sure how it's all going to come together, but I think somehow we're going to get Angels back from the Big Empty to save Heaven and defeat Michael. Another idea that occurred to me is that Nick may end up hosting Michael, and be the one to get stuck in the magic coffin.

I thought that was what would happen in this episode. I think it's a workable theory that may happen.

I haven't seen it yet, but I got some spoilers from my Sister. There's one thing I'm disappointed about, but I'm still looking forward to it.
