Yes, indeed, their place in the history of pop music is assured.

So thank you, Ladies and Gentleman, for that trip down Memory Lane to the old oak tree. The chef is working on your complimentary meal right now. Knock three times on the ceiling if you want lunch, and twice on the pipe if you want it to go.

And now let's welcome one of the most unlikely international singing stars of all time-- Roger Whittaker! Image

This is cool. I don't know Roger Whittaker at all, although I do know this song, of course. :sing:

He had one big hit in America that I'm pretty sure you'll recognize when we get to it. Possibly one other as well.

I know, he sounds like a musical instrument.

I'm familiar with this next one because my Grandmother had a Roger Whittaker 8-track that she played back in the 70s.

^^ That's a new one to me. I wish I had kept all my 8-track tapes.

I'm pretty sure I still have a bunch packed away. Just saving them for future archaeologists, I guess.

I'm a little surprised. He seemed older back in the 70s, but I guess he wasn't.

Yes, he was 40 in 1976. His career kind of got off to a late start.

At age 15, anything over 25 seemed positively ancient
