Check-In 128: Ross Hepteract, Refactorable Euler's Totient

Even wilder and wackier than pre-crash Miscellaneous, the survivors talk about the weather, puppies, work, and coffee.

Hmm. How big? Are they building a gantry in the backyard, by any chance?

So many of these encyclopedia entries are written using the pronouns "I" and "We". That's just not good encyclopedia etiquette :taptap:
"This was an act of heroism! I have spoken!"
It would be interesting if our robot children discovered the secret to interstellar travel and abandoned us.
It could happen. They wouldn't have to worry about short lifetimes and boredom.

Last night, I encountered a rabbit. Other than that, I see the usual swallows and Scissor Tail Flycatchers.
I see a bunch of rabbits every morning when I'm out walking, which is a little weird since I live in an area that's mostly businesses. There's also a ton by my Mother's house, but she's got a stretch of woods out back.

Happy Wednesday, everyone :hello:

Today is my golf day. The General texted me that he's back in Virginia but can't play today. I'll see him in a few days and will let y'all know how he's doing and what role he played in Wagner's and Prighozin's assault on Moscow.

Well, I scared a 4' long black snack a few weeks ago. I was about 6' from him and said, "Hey there!" and he shot off like a rocket into some brush

Very cool. We have plenty of black snakes in Virginia but I've never seen a Scissor Tail Flycatcher.

well youd still 'see' me on any of the zooms i attend even if i didnt lead....morning prayers also has a downloadable PDF of the prayers/chants....if you dont want Buddhism, try the meditation sessions - im not leading any, but youd 'see' me at them.
My biggest challenge will be figuring out (and remembering) the 5-hour time zone difference. Maybe see you and your fellow Buddhists soon....

Good morning!

Another 10 hour work day lies ahead of me. I was in bed by 9:30PM, last night.

My mom has black snakes where she lives. One time, a few took up residence inside her grill. What a surprise that was, when they decided to barbecue. Recently, she has a black bear roaming the woods on her property. When I was there two weeks ago, I saw it. I like to sit out on her deck, during the evenings, listening to the frogs and the whipper-will.

Good morning, mid-weekers. :coffee:

The usual shopping today, plus other things that need to be picked up. Despite a propane tank being delivered yesterday, the neighbor's was quite. Is someone going to move in- or are they flipping it? Vacation home maybe? Time will tell.

Good morning, third persons.

What will the day bring?
That's way to brief a check-in. Surely there are new neighbors, pipe leaks, roadrunners, Faires, heat waves, Aunts, and mummified cats to discuss.
It been quiet as we're between events now. The neighbors were absent yesterday, the pipes fixed for the moment, the roadrunners have moved on, the faires (at least the local ones) are over for the year, the heat isn't expected for a few more days, aunt's doing fine, and the mummified cat is still incognito.

Is that your source of heating, too?
No, we use a wood burning stove and electric heaters for heat. The propane is only used for cooking, the hot water tank, and the drier.

Good morning. :hello:

Yesterday the dermatologist removed one mole. Today I get to change the bandage. ouch. I can already tell the cotton is stuck to the wound. :Ahhh:

Gary, when the humidity dropped in Oklahoma, it all migrated to Florida. It'd not safe to be a migrant in Florida - the governor will just send you to some other state. So, look out Gary, the humidity might be on it's way back - courtesy if Governor Loudmouth.

OK, someone needs to do the vacuuming around here - and I guess that's me. :vacuum:

There are some further Faires but not really practical to go to. Hesperia Lakes (where the Pirate Faire is held) has been teasing a fall Ren Faire for the last 5 years but so far haven't gone through with it.

Happy Thursday, everyone :hello:

The weather lady said that due to Canadien fires, our air quality is in the "unhealthy for all" category. Does that mean I forego my bike ride and stay indoors like they suggest? Not likely. I am not a very compliant person. I'll defend my unhealthy decision by reasoning that only asthmatics and people even more elderly than myself should avoid breathing today

My dermatologist is a very friendly and petite Asian woman, always pleasant. That is, until I asked why not simply remove my moles. Her mood instantly turned sour. Pointing a finger at me and with a scowl, she said, "Because that would take time and I need time to find and remove legitimate cancers on other people!"

Then, like a light switch being turned on, she quickly became her pleasant little doctor self again

Good morning!

The restaurant closed the patio and the roof top, due to the Canadian smoke. Some customers were upset. If the airport across the street is not visible, and the air smelled awful, why would they want to sit outside? My clothes even smelled of burnt wood and plastic at the end of the day. I was only outside long enough to let dogs out and to walk to and from my car.

Today is a short work day. I may or may not go to Vlad's afterwards. If I do, it is to hang out and cook dinner. If not, I will hang out with Sue.
