That's good! Except for the phone issues.RJDiogenes wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 7:18 pm
I finally heard from jgc a few minutes ago. She was having a problem with her phone, but it's okay now. And Steve the Nurse just brought her some supplies.

Happy Wednesday everyone
Today we'll take a bus tour of the spectacular Dingle Peninsula. This is the westernmost part of Ireland, and the locals often jokingly refer to it as "the next parish to America."

So glad to hear this. Too bad she relies on her phone to check in -- nobody should be subjected to that experienceRJDiogenes wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 7:18 pmI finally heard from jgc a few minutes ago. Tragically, Ireland's climate is inhospitable to grape-growing Too much rain is the problem Stomping potatoes would be fine if you boiled them for an hour first and then let them cool off a bitRJDiogenes wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 7:18 pmDo they have wine in Ireland? It must be murder stomping potatoes.
Exactly. As a species, it's stupid to act violently toward each other and even more stupid to harshly judge others for acting violently toward us after we've acted violently toward themRJDiogenes wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 7:18 pmPerfect example of why we should let bygones be bygones.I have a Civil War veteran ancestor, too. Good morning, everyone.
And we're back to Normal Trash Day. I'm fairly sure.

Yes, that is very dangerous for someone in her position.
Next stop... Boston Harbor.scottydog wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 4:35 amToday we'll take a bus tour of the spectacular Dingle Peninsula. This is the westernmost part of Ireland, and the locals often jokingly refer to it as "the next parish to America."
I'm not sure what's up with her computer.Too bad she relies on her phone to check in -- nobody should be subjected to that experience
They'd probably throw in some cabbage for flavoring.Tragically, Ireland's climate is inhospitable to grape-growing Too much rain is the problem Stomping potatoes would be fine if you boiled them for an hour first and then let them cool off a bit
Are you accusing people of hypocrisy?!Exactly. As a species, it's stupid to act violently toward each other and even more stupid to harshly judge others for acting violently toward us after we've acted violently toward them
That's cute. Good for her.Madeliaette wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 4:59 amsort them into colors, so that each person/toy has one color....

Good morning, final posters.
It's Guide Dog Day!
Allergies kept me awake a good deal of the night. As for the rest of the day.... sorry dozed off there a moment. As for the rest of the day some shopping needs to occur.
One more post to go.

I'm not sure I'd want to live in a place called Dingle.scottydog wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 4:35 amToday we'll take a bus tour of the spectacular Dingle Peninsula. This is the westernmost part of Ireland, and the locals often jokingly refer to it as "the next parish to America."
Sadly we're still basically chimps.scottydog wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 4:35 amExactly. True but it is quickly remedied. I'd recommend her buying a burner until her regular phone is fixed or replaced.RJDiogenes wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 8:55 amYes, that is very dangerous for someone in her position.

Another day of Ireland somehow exceeding expectations. The rugged coastline is reminiscent of Big Sur and perhaps even better.
That's an excellent summation: whiskey is all power and no flavor. For me, it's like drinking turpentineMadeliaette wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 4:59 amglarhghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. all power and no flavor, that stuff/...
Ahhh, excellent. Isn't prosecco a sparkly wine? How was it?Madeliaette wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 4:59 ammeanwhile i am/have been sipping:

Are desert spring flowers still blooming? The next heat wave should take care of things I hope.
I was thinking the exact same thing
So very true. My friend Monti has so much hair I do believe he still qualifies as a chimp.
They say that on a clear day you can almost see Boston Harbor... on your iphone
More evidence of our chimpiness
If only it were hypocrisy. It's violent hypocrisy. But as you've often said, we were chimps only yesterday

Good evening, everyone.
I seem to have somehow gotten a lot done today....
I seem to have somehow gotten a lot done today....
We could probably all use one of those.
Be careful with that kind of loose talk.I'm not sure I'd want to live in a place called Dingle.
Actually, we're two chromosomes short of a chimp.Sadly we're still basically chimps.
It's okay now, but it would be nice if she had some kind of backup. Or at least some kind of medical alert bracelet or whatever.True but it is quickly remedied. I'd recommend her buying a burner until her regular phone is fixed or replaced.
Only Flat Earthers can see Boston from Ireland.
And once you realize that, you realize how good we're actually doing. If only it were hypocrisy. It's violent hypocrisy. But as you've often said, we were chimps only yesterday

^^ Indeed. Maybe I've been too hard on the human race. Still, I think we can do lots better than we're doing.
I'm still trying to figure out how and why it is that Ireland, with a population of only 8 million, has had a disproportionately large impact on the culture of the world
We had a great dinner out with our friends here and now, as Ringo sang in the White Album, it's time to say Good Night. Sleep tight.
