Possibly a dumb question (legions)...

Not sure if this has been discussed much before, but I was perusing the FAQ and was wondering about the description of the legions:

Legions are fora in which only posters of a certain rank can post. Acceptance into a legion is NOT automatic. Please PM an admin if you qualify for a certain legion, and you'll be given permission to enter.
Posting in a legion you no longer qualify for is not allowed. For instance, if you have attained the rank of Censor and you are still posting in "The Citizenry" legion, you may be warned.

The Legions:

The Citzenry: Plebs-Augurs
Censors: Censors
Legion of Centurions: Centurions, Primus Pilate Centurions
Legion of Praetors: Praetorians
Patricians: Patricians
Senators: Senators
The Imperial Chamber: Consuls and Imperators

The main reason I bring this up is, I get the impression that the intended structure is somewhat like how the lounges have been traditionally managed on TBBS, but I'm not aware whether this structure has actually been implemented here. If not, it's certainly not a bad system. It may simply be that I'm not quite up to Censor yet and just can't see any advanced fora, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

I think that FAQ is a hold-over from the old board where we had rank-lounges.

That's probably it. Would it be worthwhile to try and include those forums again, at least at some point in the future?

We decided not to implement them after the Apocalypse because they weren't really being used; we just didn't have the membership to support them (and we have even fewer members now). Someday, if we manage to build up our numbers enough, we'll probably go back to them.

That works for me. It might be best to update the FAQ then, since if we do get new members this section might be confusing.

Yeah. The "Mods and Admins" link needs up-dating as well since it lists mods who didn't come back after the Apocalypse.

Unfortunately, access to these things is above my pay grade. I'd have more luck trying to get those Mods to come back.

On a completely unrelated note, is it worthwhile at some point to add an arcade? I've seen them on some other boards, and it might be fun. It would also generate more traffic for the gaming forum.

Yeah, Shattered Corpse has one and Kellyz used to. I wonder how that's done. Maybe some sort of a plug in module or something.

I think J. Allen does some work on the Starscape arcade, so perhaps he could be of some help to us in that case. I always liked the KK one, and I think it would be a good addition here at some point.

I'm sorry, I've been meaning to update some of the straight pages linked off here for ages and ages. I just haven't had the time. I really need to find it, though, and soon. After the book is revised I'll have some time...I've got a hard deadline at the end of January. Perhaps I'll take an upcoming holiday to spruce up the board a bit. I need to update the stylesheet, anyway.

Implementing an arcade could probably be done; it would be a several-hour significant upgrade. If there's a stable mod on phpbb.com I could look into it.
