Being At Sea - POEM

Post by RJDiogenes »

And here is the poem that pretty much came to me in a dream:

Being At Sea
© 2017 Rick Hutchins

You make me think of being at sea
The gentle swell of the waves
And warmth of the sun
There’s a peacefulness in our love

You make me think of being at sea
All around an unbroken horizon
The lonely cries of the gulls
Somewhere out there a destination

Because the sea is not a place
so much as a journey
And a journey is just a place
between times
The finite past
and the infinite future

You make me think of being at sea
But more of a tropical isle
Where I used to be for a while
A place I shall someday once more

Put ashore

Pretty good- and that's coming from someone who's not really into poems.

Thank you. :) The interesting thing to me is all the seafaring imagery, which I seldom use-- it almost feels like it was written by somebody else.
