If there was some catastrophic event that wiped out all of humanity, wouldn't it be interesting to hang around a few million centuries to see if a new and very different intelligent life evolved?

If I've made it to 60, does that mean I've withstood the test of time? Or do I need to make it to 80 to make that claim?
