Isn't it likely to be a weak sense of identity?

People were taken by MLK, Jr's charisma. Did his believers have a weak sense of identity, too?

Aren't people just as easily taken in by good messages as bad messages?

But don't we want people taken in by good messages? Or are you saying that charisma is always dangerous regardless of the quality of the message?

Isn't it always bad to be taken in, even when the message is good, because believing the right thing for the wrong reasons inevitably leads to corruption?

Now that you mention it, as more younger women enter politics, I can totally see myself voting for a woman candidate because she's hot

Did you ever notice that presidents started getting more handsome after 1920?

Yes. In one of my books, I talk about the Warren G. Harding Effect. Because he was tall, handsome, and debonair, people assumed he was good presidential material. He ended being a disaster.
FDR was in a wheelchair and somehow this didn't hurt his popularity because he preceded television. Could a disabled person become president today?

Isn't it more likely that people today would vote for them because they're disabled? Did you know that "ableist" is now a word?

Ableism must refer to being prejudiced against the disabled. Fascinating, as Spock would say. I'm still trying to get 'baldism' into the lexicon. There are rabid baldists among us.
How did Patrick Stewart overcome the baldist society from which he came?

Can the bald reduce rabid baldism by being bold and ribald?

Wouldn't it be weird if the bald community developed a reputation for ribalditude when bald people on the screen are rarely portrayed as sexual at all?

The Wife makes me watch Hallmark movies, which almost involve romantic leading men, none of whom are ever, ever bald
