That's a nice photo of emma, by the way. I sure wish she'd come back to ReNext.
She will. Her friend is having a hard time arranging time to come to her house to work on her computer. But he hopes to be able to come on the 23rd.

And here are some pics from my Lost Missile Base Adventure:

Image

Signs, signs, everywhere there's signs....

Image

The long unwinding road.

Image

It wasn't too long before I came across what used to be a building off the side of the road. Nothing left but a crushed foundation now. This was pretty much the condition of everything I came across.

Image

Did I mention the long road?

Image

Uh... sniper platform?

Image

This was a little driveway or side road. You can kind of see how it splits into two different directions, and there were two separate small foundations back there. Both crushed up like the first.

Image

Did I mention that it was a long road, getting from there to here?

Image

Finally, the end of the line!

Image

This was the largest area I came across. Still pretty much nothing but foundations, but not crushed up like the others. A bunch of rubble and refuse, though, and a few metal panels in the ground that I did not investigate. Now I feel bad about the lonely Zombies under there. In the distance, you can see the only actual ruins I found.

Image

A pile of rubble and a couple of those metal panels, leading to mysterious underground chambers and dire experiments.

Image

Mother Nature is taking over.

Image

And here are the ruins. No idea what they were for, but it's interesting that there appears to be fresh tire tracks.

Image

Off to the side of the main road, I found this trail which also appeared to be fresh and appeared to be have tire tracks, although there was no place down there for a vehicle to go. But there was a footpath, which took me to....

Image

This long stretch of open space, which also appears to have been recently cleared. It went off as far as I could see....

Image

....in both directions. I didn't explore very far. Maybe it's for a new road? Perhaps they're fixing up the area as a place for people to visit. It is part of the Blue Hills Reservation, after all.

Image

And then I was on the long road back to civilization.

^Yeah, it does look like there's some sporadic work taking place there. Looks like there's a pair of Bobcat (tractors) there. That pile of dirt in the one pic looks relatively fresh as well as the orange marker.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention the Bobcats. I think that must be where the guard shack was in that YouTube video.

Oh, and speaking of Bobcats, I think I know where the local horde of coyotes live when they're not eating people's pets. There was a lot of coyote sign up there.

They say on a clear day, one can see Canada across the lake. All I remember from going up there as a child, and being upset that I could not see Canada. I still wasn't able to see it.

That picture with the small ancient church next to a modern skyscraper looks very Bostonish.

The church is the Old Stone Church. It is the oldest building on Public Square, and the second built within city limits. The stadium along the lake is First Energy Stadium, where the Browns play football. To the right of that is the Science Center (the small dome) and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (the small white building). The old building in front of the stadium is the Justice Center.

We were only 42 floors up. I think there are 10 more floors above where we were. Terminal Tower was a train station built in 1927. For the longest time, the city of Cleveland did not allow any other building to be taller than it.

The second picture is of the Cuyahoga River. Cuyahoga translates to "crooked". It winds through downtown and the rest of the county.

Science, Justice, and Rock'n'Roll all within walking distance-- that's got to be meaningful in some way.

"Cuyahoga" always reminds me of that Pretenders song, speaking of Rock'n'Roll.

It's such a sunny Faire. I love the intriguing signs. It's too bad it's not a magical signpost that you could actually follow.

Here is a picture of emma from before she got sick-- I think it actually may have been the day she got sick-- at a Veterans in Film and Television meeting. She's trying to identify the guy in the picture, who she believes in from an 80s cop show. Does anybody have any idea of who he is?

^Yeah, that picture was taken just as the stroke was starting.

As for the actor, John Getz would be my best guess.

EDIT: Scratch that. I believe he is Charles Haid, formerly of Hill Street Blues.

That definitely looks like him. Funny, though, I asked if the show he was on was Hill Street Blues and emma said no. She may be misremembering, though.
