Oh, hell, no. I really don't want to live with anyone and neither does she. She's already desperate to get rid of my Brother so she can have her life back. She's resorted to going out and looking at apartments for him.

Right, I gotcha. When I left home at 18, I was desperate to leave and vowed never to return. I kept that vow with no regrets.

And here's a sampling of pictures from my photo safari to Houghton's Pond on Friday:

Image

Sunrise.

Image

Sunrise lights up the trees.

Image

Misty fog over the lake.

Image

Those trees get mighty tall.

Image

This is my favorite one.

Image

And these are some of the birds I met on the ball field. Geese? Ducks?

^Canadian Geese.

Wow, what a spectacular area to explore! :camera: Did you see any other kinds of wildlife or just the geese?

Aside from squirrels, that was the only wildlife. I didn't even see any other birds, that I can recall.

^That's kind of eerie. Up in our mountains I see lots of birds and the occasional deer and just a few weeks ago Bighorn sheep.

It's a little odd that there weren't more birds around, but today was different. I saw some birds hanging out in a swampy area and then I encountered a deer and her fawn on Old Route 128.

Image

I arrived at the lake a little after sunrise.

Image

That's Great Blue Hill shrouded in fog-- that's where that old granite lookout tower is.

Image

Old Route 128 begins.

Image

And goes on and on....

Image

At various places you can still see the road markings.

Image

Yo, birches.

Image

And what to my wondering eyes should appear....

Image

I got some decent pictures as I slowly inched closer and closer, and finally got a really good shot of mom before she leaped into the underbrush.

Image

Also one of her baby before he or she followed.

Image

I got a couple more of them as they disappeared into the woods. Mom hissed at me rather angrily.

Image

And here we come to the end of the road. There's a fence down there and maybe a path, but I didn't want to go any further today.

Image

There's also this big hill to the left, which is high on my list to check out on my next trip.

Image

Twenty-five minutes later, we're back to the beginning.

Image

And here's a pano for the road. Haha, for the road, get it?

Great shot of the deer. When I saw the deer and sheep in our mountains I couldn't get my camera fast enough.

Thank you. :) I was so disappointed when I walked onto the path and she bounded away before I could react-- but then they just stood there for me on the road as I got closer and closer. Most of the shots I got are okay, but blurry, but I'm so happy with those two that came out clear.

Those are some great pics, RJ. What a terrific path to follow. Did you see anybody else on the trail or were you all alone? And are these all taken with your iphone?

Whoa, those are really nice. I especially like the first one-- I assume those are rain showers we're seeing.

Thank you. I was all alone on the trail. People were starting to arrive at the park as I left, mostly to walk their dogs, but nobody else was on Old 128. Most of the pictures were taken with my camera (Canon Rebel) with the regular lens. For the deer, I used my telephoto lens. The pano was taken with my iPhone, because, amazingly, my camera does not do panos.
