The Phantom Smileys

Even wilder and wackier than pre-crash Miscellaneous, the survivors talk about the weather, puppies, work, and coffee.

^^ Bug is new. I added it to the list.

By the way, huggle, did I mention that I'm now getting an error message when I try to add new Green Smilies from the repository in the ACP? I have no idea what happened....

I can see them, but maybe it is because I posted them?
I don't know why I can't see some of them. Maybe it has to do with the particular resources that our Internet providers use?

What does the error message say? It might give us a hint as to what is wrong. Maybe there is a limit of smilies the board can handle.

I can't see some phantom smilies either. It depends on what software you are running. These phantom smilies are part of an open source software which is fully or partially incorporated in many browsers and operating systems. I suspect that the modifications made by developers cause some smilies to get dropped.

It says "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again." I was trying to add the Balloons Smiley on the first page, but I tried a couple of others, too, and the same thing happens.

That's a bit crazy. I'll have a look into the matter tomorrow. Part of the problem might be that during the board switch and upgrade I had to tweak the database a little and cheat it into working.

I found a website with tons of other phantom smilies and bookmarked it at my office. And of course I promptly forgot to send the link to my private account LOL. I'll post it after the weekend.

hmm, couldn't find the root of the problem yet but I thought I discovered a :shark: until I noticed that it was suspiciousely green and promptly found it on page 6 of the smilie list.
In a German phpBB forum users describe similar problems with installing new smilies. They recommend to upload the new smilies as a smilie pack. In that case we have to create the *.pac file manually. I've done that before and it's not really complicated.
Maybe it'll iron itself out when I upgrade the board.

Yeah, we might as well wait for that. It's not like it's really a big deal. It's just odd that it stopped working for no apparent reason.

I updated the original list, but I can't get the theropod to appear. When I search for him on Google, he comes up as T-Rex or Tyrannosaurus Rex, but those don't work either.

Sweet! They all work and they're all added to the list. The BBCodes are:

roller_coaster
carousel_horse
statue_of_liberty

With colons.
