And the facility is hiding something massive... this book is going heavily into the grey areas of morality like nothing I've ever done before! And it'll have the reader guessing right to the end... :D

Chapter 33 is the first chapter aboard the Asimov this time - with Cheen in command as Susan is elsewhere, and a few crewmembers nabbed from other ships. Cheen is taking point on some tricky diplomatic negotiations... :)

Secrets in the Sand got a good review from the same person who reviewed the other 2 books.
Oddly the review is dated April 30, even though I just now found it. :conf:
Amazon has to approve them, but it doesn't usually take that long.

36 is done, and the battle is joined! They're doing well - mostly because the enemy are in a load of small ships, but it's gonna be the death of a thousand cuts if they're not careful.

Managed 3 chapters today! Shuji, who will be a main character in the next book, is introduced in chapter 39. She'll end chapter 40 departing with the Hyperion.

And at 100,220 words, the first draft is done! :) Editing starts tomorrow... :)

This is a very political novel with a lot of backstabbing and conflict, both physical and otherwise. Potential titles:

"The Phoenix Rises" - a reference from things coming back (or seeming to) from the dead, which is a bit thematic.
"A Beast Unchained" - a reference to the antagonists acting on their baser instincts, as well as some of the protagonists introduced for this book.
"Friend and Foe Alike" - a reference to how similar the behaviour of the opposing sides is, and to the fact that we never quite know who we can trust throughout the book.

I'm thinking "Friend and Foe Alike" at the moment... any thoughts welcome!

I agree. I like "A Beast Unchained" on its own merits, but "Friend and Foe Alike" is not only more specific, but more appropriate to the venue.
