There's no reason not to. Humans can and should be creative their whole lives. That's why, when I retire, I'm not going to call myself retired. When I quit my current job, I'm transitioning to a new job. I'm going from professor to writer.

My tentative new date for retirement is December 2021. Fifteen months and counting, if I go through with it. Our financial guy says that I can -- the question is, do I want to. I'm leaning "yes".

And then the question is whether I stick to writing non-fiction stuff on heroes, or do I dare to attempt fiction.
