Wow, we're into 1978. Did he continue to record into the 80s?

He continued to release singles into the 90s, although they didn't chart.

That's great that he was still active well into his 50s and beyond

I plan to do the same.
There's no reason not to. Humans can and should be creative their whole lives. That's why, when I retire, I'm not going to call myself retired. When I quit my current job, I'm transitioning to a new job. I'm going from professor to writer.

Yes, I hope to become a full-time writer myself. Hopefully in not-too-many months.

My tentative new date for retirement is December 2021. Fifteen months and counting, if I go through with it. Our financial guy says that I can -- the question is, do I want to. I'm leaning "yes".

And then the question is whether I stick to writing non-fiction stuff on heroes, or do I dare to attempt fiction.

My plan is to go part time next birthday and then retire on the following birthday. Technically, I should be able to retire right now, but the unknown factors are my credit card debt and the long-term effects of the pandemic.

I think you dare to attempt fiction. :D

The prospect of doing so terrifies me. Fiction sounds so much harder to do.

All of his later stuff seems to have German titles.

It's different. If you want to, you could post drafts in the Super Secret Hidden Writer's Forum and Lupy and I will comment on them.

He does some really good stuff. It's surprising that he only had the one hit in America.
