Dang. That's a lot of loss. I'm glad the honored peeps behind the camera, too.

Hmm. That looks interesting. Vigilantes are one of those things that work great in fiction, but not so well in real life.

This is an excellent video  I didn't think I would watch all 25 minutes of it, but I did. The guys really nails it about the psychology of vigilantism. In fact, this video is 10 times better than the Encyclopedia of Heroism entry on vigilantism

USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) Dismantling

I wish I could see this in person. It's fascinating how the hull was dragged up on shore.

It's funny how seeing it being deconstructed makes it seem even more gigantic.

An interesting video on the decline of religion. Posted here as I'm not sure where else to post it.

Interesting. That's pretty accurate, and the decline of religion is a good thing in and of itself, as far as I'm concerned. But there are at least two ramifications to that. One is that, as the influence of religion declines, the remaining religious people and groups feel more threatened and therefore become more radicalized and extreme. The other is that supernatural religion is, to a large extent, becoming replaced with secular ideology-- which is pretty much a lateral move, at best.
