Preview: RJ's Drive-In Theater

Post by RJDiogenes »

My new blog is coming along and I will probably set it to Live this Sunday morning alongside Trunkards. I plan to post a "radio show," a short story, and artwork, and maybe something else, to give people an idea of what to expect, but thereafter will post one item a week.

Here is the title graphic I came up with:

Three versions (so far) that I will swap out periodically-- unless I find a feature that will automatically rotate them, but I doubt that. I may tweak this a bit before it goes Live. I feel like the flying saucer on the left needs something on the right to balance it.

No, it will be free (with a tip jar :D ), but it will be on Tumblr. I started it on WordPress, but that was turning out to be a pain in the ass-- then, while I was working on it, Tumblr decided that nudity was okay again, and I also learned about the Blaze and Tip features, so I just started over on Tumblr. The one drawback I've had so far is that it only allows one format per post, so I can't include a video and story and artwork in the same post-- but, just before I checked in this evening, I found out they have a new beta post editor, so I think there may be a workaround now.

Yes, I found the beta post editor and it does what I want, much to my relief. I finished the title cards and added a Werewolf edition:

It just occurred to me that these are all Horror characters, so I should also add some Sci-Fi imagery. Maybe I'll do a robot or something tonight if I have time.

For the initial post on Sunday, I'm going to include the first episode of Blue Cowl, "The Tabethan Analysis," artwork to be determined, and probably a bit of humor, maybe this:

We'll see if anyone actually gets it.

Humor is always welcome -- and I love the pun on "side" I wonder if there's a Dave Berg's Lighter Side of Bacon :conf:

Yep, whichever way you look at it, that's a side of bacon... :D

(Or perhaps a strip...)

The strip, or rather lemniscate, of bacon literally only has one side?

Oh I saw that from the get-go. I thought there was more to it than that. You had me Googling all sorts of things including "sides of Kevin Bacon"
