Hooray!
Re: Football
I hope they step it up a bit in the second half....

Even the commercials were disappointing.

Mostly. I did like the two with the dogs. The overweight dog - I don't even remember what the commodity - and the dog that bribed the guy with Doritos.

Re: Football
So Payton manning goes to the Broncos, and Tiebow goes to the Jets (of all teams).

Re: Football
Oh, football! I am so happy to have you back.
The Bears won their opening game by at least 20 points. It helped them that Andrew Luck started his NFL career with 2 interceptions and a fumble. The Colts also fumbled on a kickoff return in the first half and the Bears were able to get a field goal out of it. Considering how awful my team was at the end of last season, when we were down to our third quarterback, it was sooooo good to see them win.
The Lions and Vikings also won but the Packers lost. So we have a 3-way tie for first place in the NFC North while the Packers are in last place. I can gloat until the Bears and Packers play on Thursday night.
I heard Tom Brady got kicked in the face during the Patriots game! How crazy is that? I'm eager to see the video of that because I can't imagine the league will let someone get away with that.

Re: Football
Tom got a shin to the nose while being tackled. It was not intentional. He sure looked weird with a band-aid on his nose and cotton sticking out of it when he went back on the field! Apparently, it's not broken though.

Re: Football
Cleveland lost. No big surprise. I lost interest in them years ago.

Re: Football
Bears and Packers are playing in primetime tonight. However, it seems to be more like Packers first string defense vs. Bears third string offense.
Re: Football
The first quarter of tonight's Monday Night Football game took 1 hour to play out in real time. It had two coaches challenges, a scoring play that was overturned on replay, and a 10 minute delay while they tried to sort a fumble recovery where a fight broke out. These replacement refs have not managed to get control of the game at all.
