I don't think I know much specific about his politics, although I guess I've always assumed he's some form of Left Winger. But I've read Danse Macabre and a few other non-fiction pieces of his and he's definitely an impressive authority on writing and the genre in general. I don't always agree with him, but he's certainly someone to take seriously.

I'm not familiar with that movie, but I remember it being a song.

The movie made from the autobiography of the most decorated soldier of WWII - Audie Murphy. He played himself in the movie.

It's from a song we used to sing in Campfire. I googled it, and wow! It has more of a history than I knew! Videos, wiki page and more! :D Now I'll find out if they sang it in the Audie Murphy movie.

And it was. :D Looks like the group was active in the 1930s-- maybe something to work into one of my period stories.

Thank you. Elephants don't purr often, but when they do they knock pictures off walls. :D

I wonder if that's the only time a person has starred in their own biography.

Don't know. But it's one of my favorite movies. Audie Murphy also starred in a bunch of westerns. He was a good actor.

Emma, I think you'll like To Hell and Back.
