The Picture Thread IV: piccie-tide

Re: The Picture Thread IV: piccie-tide
We made our annual pilgrimage to the LA fair. Here's some select shots.
The entrance by Blue Gate:
The Train Museum:
Just a beauty shot at the Art Museum:
The art exhibits were really thin this year and some of them looked to have been borrowed from the weird dreams I have.
But it was getting late and time to go home...

If you had one of those, you wouldn't have to worry about being late.
Is any part of this permanent, or do they just set it up for the Faire? The Train Museum and the Art Museum look pretty extensive.
And that's one huge Indiana Jones book in the back.

so what was inside the phone box?
Re: The Picture Thread IV: piccie-tide
I think the Train Museum is open year-round (it has its own entrance I assume). The Art Museum is used for art classes between fairs. I think the Motor Sports Museum is open year-round as well. There's also an outdoor model train layout that's permanent. Everything else is just for the fair.RJDiogenes wrote:Is any part of this permanent, or do they just set it up for the Faire? Pretty nice. The model train layout sounds cool.Lupine wrote:I think the Train Museum is open year-round (it has its own entrance I assume). The Art Museum is used for art classes between fairs. Well, I didn't have very much luck with the Moon last night, so I'll need some tips from emma. But this morning at Wollaston Beach yielded some nice photos.

Sunrise, actually, but thank you. I'm really happy with my new lens.

And this was an interesting discovery:
Perhaps I should ask for a stipend.

I'm flattered. But did you notice the name on the wall?Lupine wrote:^Doc Brown?
One of the advantages of living on the coast: If there's water, it's generally sunrise.RJDiogenes wrote:I always get those mixed up.

Re: The Picture Thread IV: piccie-tide
Some pictures from last night: The first one was taken early in the evening, when I was just experimenting with settings, and the Moon was still in the East. It's not what I was trying for, but it looks pretty cool.
This is about the best shot of the total eclipse. I messed with it a little. The sky is enhanced, but the Moon is not.
As expected, I pretty much got nothing usable of the raccoons. This was the "best." See those three pairs of dots? Those are spooky raccoons.

I thought the same.Lupine wrote:^Doc Brown?
But, I did notice the name.

Nice pics. A good racoon pic is as rare as a Bigfoot pic or Zombie pic. Evil is hard to capture on film.
