Re: Welcome Thread Part II
Hello all, I am Marten van Wier. I use the username the Dutch Ghost for my online presence or the abbreviation TDG when I want to write down my username quickly.
There is not really any story behind my username other that the username Ghost was already taken on a forum where I wanted to sign up, so I decided to glue my nationality to it to stand out seperately and after that it stuck when I decided to make accounts on other forums.
I came here after my friend Uschi invited me when she heard I was working on stories and wanted feedback and help with writing them.

Welcome to the board
I think you'll like it here.
Interesting to learn about your nick. A board member who died less than a year ago went by the name ghost on TrekBBS. Was that by any chance the board you registered?
I use the name huggle on most boards. It goes back to a Dutch friend, Santaman, who used to huggle everyone in chat. The idea of a combination of a hug and a snuggle appealed to me and so I adopted the word as a nick.

Welcome to the board, TDG. It's good to have you here.
Oh, I didn't know that she died. Poor Ghost.
I noticed that you appeared on Tumblr under another familiar alias.
Re: Welcome Thread Part II
actually, you did. Ghost was Emma. I first met her on Keith Cobb's board in 2000 or 2001. There and on ExIsle she used a different name again: Nonny. It took me years to realize Emma was an old friend under a different name; and she didn't recognize me either, as I had changed my name, too.
That's the huge disadvantage of different usernames.
Yes, on Tumblr I used the nick I got from you I use it on TrekBBS.

Re: Welcome Thread Part II
I met emma as Nonny on Ex Isle as well, but the Ghost I'm thinking of is a different person who I knew from TrekBBS and KellyzKorner. I don't think emma was ever on TrekBBS. The Ghost I'm thinking of lived in upstate New York, and was hospitalized with limited mobility because of her weight and knee problems.
I know, I've seen you there. Even though I barely post there anymore....Yes, on Tumblr I used the nick I got from you I use it on TrekBBS.
