^And that, dear friends, is how they invented perpetual motion :p

Not new, not old but a long time from last post -and- under an old nick: I'm ba-ack

Been away on a (much) smaller board; two active posters, and none of them the owner  [and, of course, the 'mother-board'].
Had fun there until one board started coughing a bit too much (it might actually have died yesterday *sigh* well, at least I managed to order a coffee-mug from the shop before the board went belly-up  ) and elsewhere, someone I thought was a friend started behaving somewhat unfriendly towards me in open forum (she might have had one of those days, but I didn't dare ask.) it gave me a couple of sleepless nights and a need to find a place where people might get to know me better -if they don't already.
huggle wrote:Another factor is trolling/flaming/drama - people feel uncomfortable when there is a quarrel. They'll withdraw from the board and after a while they just forget the board and never return.
[my emphasis.] Exactly.

I'm not sure whether my old (ancient, really) posts on this board will help those of you not knowing me figure out what I'm about (there's about 20 of them afaik) but I'm sure my future posts will :)

Here I am:

And here is my cohabiter in a sort of 'bedroom-pose'. [SFW]

Thanks, fine but a bit confused about this board still.

And here's the second (actually the first) of them:

Great minds :) I have several theme songs, depending on my mood. The others are "That River" by Jim Byrnes

and the Simon Templar theme

I watched the concert in Central Park live with my granddad while visiting some family friends in Frankfurt (am Main)

Granddad was bunking in their TV-room and didn't mind me watching the concert... his comment: "what a couple of sympathetic young people"... I might have been in that phase where my taste in music wasn't designed to aggravate my elders though.

Not yet anyway.

But then, I probably wouldn't have listened to things like An der schönen blauen Donau at that time if it weren't for him (I wouldn't have found it before watching 2001 ;) ).

My personal 'carry-along' theme-music usually comes from film-soundtracks though, unless I happen to be otherwise inspired, like I was one summer when I just had to purchase an original Verve-pressing of Stan Getz' and Joãu Gilberto's Getz/Gilberto -which somehow has become a summer thing for me (nothing like sambas and bossanovas to get me in the feel of the season).

do you happen to know the Cyrano de Bergerac movie with Gerard Depardieu? It has a really good theme music. Quite invigorating

Ah, movie theme music. When I'm out strolling around the city or down the mall, I either hear the James Bond Theme or the Indiana Jones Theme playing in my head, depending on the mood I'm in.
