Actually two surprises: your parcel arrived on Monday. Just when I needed some cheering up =) There was trouble with connecting my new oven to the power grid and after 1 month of fast food I was sooooo craving for something homecooked. New date for the oven is Tuesday 3 pm I am tempted to try out the tiny spirit stove my late grandaunt always used in her garden to make coffee, but I better get a fire extinguisher first, just in case...

Thanks for the cool presents!! I'll assemble the Enterprise in the weekend as a little treat after getting on with the renovation of my old appartment (I still need to paint living room, study and corridor).

I had a rather busy weekend with my old appartment: painted the living room, bathroom, study and corridor on Saturday and cleared out part of the basement.
On Sunday I fetched the rest of my stuff from the basement and the terrace (including a gazillion of spiders, I guess - fortunately, it was already too dark to see any details).
Now I'll need another week or two to sort through the stuff and put it away.

Next weekend I'll take a time out and visit my parents (no work except for harvesting apples and peeling walnuts)

Thanks Not much chance of getting a rest before Christmas, but at least my stmach is better. I used to be able to eat tons of chocolate without feeling bad, now I feel sick after just 2 chocolate bars. I think I'll ask my GP for a diabetes test next time I have a checkup, just in case. It's surely no fully developed diabetes yet (no typical symptoms), but it might be a very early state. It runs in my family and I am to be expected to get it sooner or later.
But as my great-granny used to say: in the end you have to die of something, after all.
