One day? Wow, that's fantastic. Image

Although, just once I'd like to see Yorick survive. Alas!

so I'm done with the set for Hello Dolly..here are three panels that I worked on - the two city scenes were 10 by 8 feet so others helped paint them too....no money for all that time spent - ah, well - that's Community Theatre!

this took a lot of time but I'm pretty pleased with the result, seeing as my "canvas" was 6 by 8 feet high!

Awesome. I love how those cityscapes seem kind of organic. Do you get to keep them when the show is over?

Cool :D nice job on the city scape, I like that one a lot. 8)
The hats in the window look very 1920's which I like, great job all in all. 8)

nope, RJ, they are 8x6 and 10 x 8 " flats...too big to keep. They will be re-used /painted over for some other play.

lol - thanks Bro. Those are actually from the 1890s, but close enough!
:D
when i was researching the styles for my drawings, I felt a little sorry we didnt wear such elegant trappings any more...but I guess it'd be harder to catch a bus dressed up in flamboyant hats, long dresses and carrying parasols!

new Poem for the Poetry Group tomorrow: had to make a poem out of the words in bold. Each month peeps randomly write down words and we have a month to come up with a poem.

Down Under
Memory can undulate like the waves of the ocean,
Fool you, like a narwhal, floating upside down, convincing us it’s dead,
in spite of all the
Instruction that informs us it merely likes to swim that way.
Memory can reverberate with the clanging gong of delusional misdirection,
Make re-writes of a moral wobble into altruistic motives.
But Memory can also ignore the tumescent proof of a concupiscent state if we can’t
Summon the gumption to admit love might be hiding
Behind desire.

tricky words!

Tricky words, indeed! I pasted the poem into notepad so I wouldn't know what the key words were. It's very nice. I love the use of the narwhal and the bit about rewriting a moral wobble into altruism. :D

I was inspired by the PBS specia, l"Bring Me The Banjo" to do some kind of musician playing a banjo, and I found a reference photo from 1902 saying "Unknown Banjo player near Savannah". It breaks my heart we'll never know this gentleman's name, but here he is playing on the banjo.

Maybe the gentleman's name will turn up someday. :christmas: in any case he's yet again in someone's mind and art. 8)

I have made a little brighter version of Andree's marvelous drawing, I tried to make it look antique and painting like, all credits got to her though. :D
