not sure...

.... if this would count as art, but I have been experimenting a little with quilt patterns today and am not sure which one looks better. What do you think?

My preference is for the first one, since it's darker and has more blue. 8)

Use them both.. ;) on for the top side, the other one for the bottom side.. :christmas:

LOL that's an idea :)
It's the same pattern in both but depending on the colours, at a distance one either gets the illusion of dark corkscrews or a web.
The first one was a rather unexpected result of me experimenting with the colours. The latter is the standard way in which this particular pattern is used.
By putting the darkest colour in the center one gets an even more different result:

I like the first one, it has a really nice spirally-ribbon look.

The second one looks a bit washed-out by comparison with the first.

I might try all three versions. With my brother being newly wed it might be good idea to start on machine-washable baby quilts some time soon ;)
