Maybe he will! In fact, it seems pretty definite at this point.
And now Jim will be next.

Perhaps he's busy. He's looking for a sponsor or at least a regular lift to a college where he can study how to build computer games.
He's also interested in writing and drawing cartoons.
LOL looks like I am the only one here who doesn't write (except for 2 fragments which I just don't get around to finishing. It's a bit like swimming: maybe when I am past 300 I'll find the time to learn it
Hmm, Ghost next, perhaps? I haven't seen her either in quite a long time.

(Actually she was here yesterday in the gardening thread. )
Re: The who will post after you thread! III
yep. I hadn't noticed it yesterday. Too tired after a 13 hour day. We had an on-site meeting at the place of last week's manure spill. And one representative of an environmentalist club asked in all seriouseness whether the manure in the creek harms the eyes of diving beavers and kingfishers *bangs head on keyboard in despair*. It was pretty hilarious, though, to see her colleagues edging away from her in quite a hurry
Unfortunately, the TV was there and out of some 20 people they had to pick precisely that woman for an interview. I dread to see the outcome tomorrow...
How about another rare guest: KatyJane?

Nope, just me.
And I have to admit that I don't really know the answer to that question, but I suppose an environmentalist should. I'm thinking on one hand if they're designed to dive in the water, they're not going to be hurt by excrement; on the other hand if the excrement is toxic enough to kill all the fish it will probably hurt animals that dive in the water.
And now KatyJane will show up. She's an expert on animals.

Don't worry, the risk is zero. In case of the kingfisher the contact is just 1-2 seconds - too short to cause harm. And beavers are way too smart to swim in polluted water. They usually have a second home a few miles away, for emergencies.
Additionally, both species have a third eyelid that protects the eyes while diving. I estimate they could swim in pure vinegar for several minutes without suffering eye damage.
The question was rather on the level of "don't carrier pigeons get eye damage when they fly through acid rain?" or "do elephants get cavities if they use their tusks to uproot sugar cane?" That's why all the experts were completely speechless when it was asked.
Maybe KatyJane will drop by and give us her opinion? Do you treat wild animals, KJ?

I think I remember times when she was called in to treat an injured wild animal.
Maybe Naht will stop by and relay our queries.
Do elephants get cavities....?

I'm not sure. Not in the tusks as far as I know.
Naht has become pretty invisible as well, lately. RL taking its toll, I presume
