Enterprise: "Borderland" (SPOILERS)

#1 Post by Mikel Sevrel » October 29th, 2004, 7:02 pm

Just thought I'd open my first Enterprise thread, at this beautiful new board.

Brent Spiner, Alec Newman, Eugenics, Klingons, and Orions!

They wanted someone big, he's pretty darn big. Thankfully his role wasn't very large. And WOW, that was a great episode.

Nice pun, Mikel

I haven't seen the episode yet, but I'll see it this weekend, either tomorrow or Sunday.

All I can say about this episode is *wow*.

I don't think I've seen a better Enterprise! :D :D

I hope this becomes a trend because this season might actually redeem Enterprise and get forgiveness for the whole Xindi/TCW crap they pulled. :) :)

Yeah, the TCW was nasty. Nice to see you positive about Enterprise though ;)

There's an interesting interview with Billingsley that talks about his character and the future of the franchise:http://www.treknation.com/interviews/billingsley1004.shtml

It's quite long. This season definitely shows promise. If you say "wow", then I think they're on the right track.

Home was palatable, Borderland was actually good.

Come on, people, post! It's the best episode of Star Trek in four years!

I loved the way Malik seemed to be channeling Khan.. I'm guessing from his name that that was an intentional similarity. But I also noticed a definate homage to Feyd Rautha from David Lynch's Dune movie. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

I was worried that the Augments were going to be a mere shadow of the supermen from Space Seed--generic aggressive ninja villains. Instead, they were every bit as human as Archer & crew. Perhaps more so.

Spiner dominated the episode, unfortunately making Archer seem to be even more of a douchebag than normal. But what kind of a name is "Arik Soong"? Jiddish/Korean?

Paul White aka Big Show

7' 500 lbs

(although I heard its actually 7'5" 550lbs but the WWE just uses 7' 500 cause its nice and round and sounds better on tv)

Watching it right now. Had to laugh at Soong's comment that Malcolm could use some publicity--I imagined him saying that to Travis. Enjoyed Mal's reaction too.

Seems a bit... I don't know... dull so far. Good but unremarkable. Except for Brent Spiner, who's by far my favorite TNG actor (character, too, come to that).

I give it an A. This was Star Trek. This is what it should have been like since the start of Enterprise. It was actually full of tension and not knowing what would happen for once. And I love how the references to the Eugenics Wars didn't break any established continuity! The quality of the writing actually oozed quality.

It was a pretty good episode. Seriously. Even if I missed the first few minutes thanks to some severe weather. I'll be watching when it repeats here in a few minutes.

It was excellent. I just hope this improvement hasn't come too late to save the series - last season, I wouldn't have cared, but now I do...

a great episode :)

was it just me, or apart from the new captains chair, have they made an awful lot of changes to the sets?
