driving through the night
in the darkness

your window catches and mutes
the beams of light from other cars
travelling
you think about this very road
at this very time
what do they carry with them
what unbidden passengers
carried on the seat beside them
lean over to whisper
the turn of phrase
the taut tone of voice
the words that wound
points scored
you are tired
you cannot win
retreat into the night
retire from the field

in a quiet house
you can carry your heart upstairs.

I can dig it. Sometimes the pettiness of the world is even more overwhelming than the grand tragedies. Makes you want to retreat to the deep woods or a mountaintop.

I need a new planet, one where I'll only take my friends to and people that are share the same ideas as I... would be nice place without conflict.. well okay conflicts here and there but only in games like Borderlands..
