I've just discovered Mah Jong. It's so nice and relaxing! I've only played it on the computer though but I'm thinking about getting an actual set. Does anyone have one?
And this might be a really stupid question, but how long does it take to set up?

Mah Jong is an awesome game, and it's probably best played on the computer unless you're willing to put quite a lot of time into setting up the various layouts (i'm pretty sure there are over 100)
It's not that the game takes up much table top space, but you have to be really good at stacking and not bump the table while playing or anything
Then again, it's a really cool game to actually own, cause most people don't know what it is when they first see it.

I've played real Mah Jong and it's nothing like the computer version.
Real Mah Jong is played in a similar style of Gin-Rummy. You have to be the first to get your tiles into runs (straights), sets of three and/or sets of two (you have to have at least two runs or two straights and a pair to win, oryou can have one run and seven pairs, etc) and no extra cards.
I was taught by a lady from the Phillipines where it's huge. We play for money.
